Our plan was to drop the joint down the vent or drop it in between the gap the gear shifter has, which is usually covered by that black plastic fuzz stuff. But how hard would it be to retrieve it after? If a Cop searched the car (no drug dog) would he find it? Where does the vent lead to? What about the gear shift? Would a drug smelling dog find it?

If a K-9 alerted to the dash of an auto, and I suspected smugglers, I would take the dash apart. If I suspected the motorists were users only, I would not make the effort. Most interdiction officers cannot discern the difference between the two, so dropping a joint into your vents could lead to a legal dash removal. I recommend the same thing I recommend in Traffic Stops — eat the joint!
