I’ve heard that people don’t go to prison for weed in user amounts. Is this true?

Wrong. How about the hundreds of thousands in prison for peeing dirty for marijuana causing their probation to be violated? Probation is being used to raise massive amounts of money and is usually a prolonged prison sentence. Also, a first offense with small amounts might not go to prison, but they certainly go to jail: 750,000 per year across the U.S; in Texas, that’s.61,000 each year with 60,000 of those being simple possession. They might not go to prison, but they do spend time in the nasty county jails where inmates say "prison is love compared to these places." I believe as part of an officers and prosecutors ongoing education, they should have to spend three days per year in jail – not in population where they will get hurt – but in jail, eating the same food, smelling the same smells, using the bathroom while others watch etc. This would certainly change the compassion level of most officers.
