You can thank President Ronald Regan for the situation you’re in if it’s a workplace drug
test you’re taking. He introduced it to the workforce in the 1980s by executive order
12595 the White House Conference for a Drug Free America.
President Reagan brought in insurance companies, labor leaders, state Governors,
basically the key people in American society and they put together the war on drugs. He
did his part with Executive Order 12564 that meant drug testing for all govt. employees.
President Carter was the only president to push back drug laws, He decriminalized
possession of less than 1 oz of marijuana. Before Carter Possession of any marijuana was
a criminal offense, and it was Carters economic team that set up our recovery in the 80's
he was a very underrated president and deserves much more respect than he gets.
