My buddy was growing outside in camouflage 5 gallon buckets in a thicket area out some old dirt road, he had everything all set up and went back a month later only to find that someone removed 3 buckets(soil and everything) leaving no trails, his other 4 buckets where more hidden and were ok.He told me he went back and got the other buckets out of there because he was afraid of fingerprints on the buckets.Which is kinda too late because they got 3 of them lol
To me this don't sound like cops for some reason, i would think he would of seen more trails from them looking around for more plants, and why wouldn't they just leave everything alone and try to catch him caring for them sense it is so early in the season and there were only 6 plants.He said they got the first 2 then somehow missed the middle 4 and got the one he had in a lower part without leaving any trails almost like they knew were them 3 were at.He says he never leaves his own trails because he walks around and through some thickets to get there.The parts where the plants where had alot more grass and he thinks he would of seen a trail from them looking around too.
If it was the land owner wouldn't you think he would of dumped out the buckets so they were not so heavy to carry?there was no dirt anywhere.
If it was another person/hunter that smoked marijuana and wanted to grow them for themselves wouldn't you just leave them and sneak back and steal the harvest?
i told him he shouldn't have went back for fear they had a camera somewhere in the thickets, and he should be worried that if it was the cops and they do find his prints, they could wait to see if he harvests anything else and just wait till then to come to his house.
What do you guys think?How likely is it that prints would still be on the buckets after all the rain we been getting.

Its likely that someone found the buckets and carried as many off as they could with them. A person who found plants in soil who wanted to nab them would probably just come back at harvest time, but if they were in movable buckets they probably just took them to stash in their own spot, since you don't know if the grower will move them or when they may be around to harvest, the person wanting to nab them could lose their opportunity to take them. This is what I would do at least, I wouldn't wait and I'd take them.
Well really, a nicer thing to do would be to take some clones and perhaps leave a note, telling the grower you are not LEO, and that they may want to find another, better spot for their plants and that you taxed them a little by taking some clonage LoL. That's the price of carelessness.
And yes, it could have been the police who took some and set up cameras and other surveillance to try and see who is growing when they come back.
If he did not use gloves I would say even with the rain it is highly likely that they got at least partial prints off the sides of the buckets.
Whenever going to a plot it is always a good idea to use some kind of disguise.
Even a bandanna for the head worn around your face like a cowboy and a brimmed hat help immensely with this. Top off with sunglasses and you are slammin. If you have long hair remember to bun it up and hide it under the hat.
A fake beard helps too to cover ones face in a more nonchalant manner than a bandanna, but is more costly and time inefficient to have to secure a fake beard on so that it looks real and won't fall off with sweat or other problems (like snagging on a branch). Have a bandanna or something else to cover your face in case it does fall off.
Remember to have a backup plan for everything, and remember that physical evidence is not your friend. A single strand of hair from your head/body stuck to a marijuana plant, or the vegetation/soil from that particular area found under your shoes and in your car, house, etc. helps build a very good case against you showing you were the one growing/tending these plants. |

how long ago were they taken? O' i agree he should not have went back. Barry talks about this in volume 2. 'neaver go back'. maybe cameras were set-up. time will tell. my friend was cought with 2 joints at a raid and was not ordered to court untill 2-years later.

It does not sound like the plants were taken by cops. Usually when cops make the discovery, they leave everything undisturbed and then place hidden cameras or stake out the location in hopes of catching the grower.
Even if your fingerprints are discovered on the buckets, that is not enough proof you are the grower. You could have sold the buckets to a person who later used them to cultivate the illegal plants...you could have been a hunter who noticed the odd set up and during your examination of the unknown plants, you touched the buckets.
It's always best to remove prints but in this instance, don't worry.
When returning (and you shouldn't have) wear a ski mask so photographs can't identify who you are.
It sounds to me like another citizen picked through what she could carry and is now enjoying your plants as they grow in her backyard. LOL.
Again, don't be alarmed...my spider senses do not indicate cop involvement.
