I smoke everyday.I pick up an ounce every two weeks.I look like a stoner I.E. long hair,black t-shirt,black jeans,tattoos and piercings,smell of weed frequently follows me around.I drive a profiled car I.E. late 90's style import sports car with illegally tinted windows which i do get stopped for and i also have vanity plates that reference the devil (hey,xtians put their stuff on their plates i can do the same).I do have a clean record except for a criminal mischeif charge when i was 18 (10 years ago) for playing mailbox-baseball,and thats exponged from my public record (although probably still accessible thru NCIC).I never have a problem with leos wanting to search me.I always have a laid back yet polite attitude and i know that and my clean record go a long way.Ive been pulled over several times right after smoking and they never seem to notice.Ive had one cop ask to search me cause he saw my hands shaking,which was partially from being nervous about the weed in my pocket and partially from drinking lots of coffee.I politely explained that it was nothing personal,but i'm kind of particular about strangers going through my stuff,and that my hands were shaking because i normally consume alot of coffee and soda.He asked if he could let a dog go around the car.I told him that would be ok,knowing he could do it if he wanted.A couple minutes later he came back with my ticket for tint and sent me on my way.
Last night i got pulled over for my tint again,around midnight.I had an ounce in my left front pocket.I did the laid back polite routine,which is my normal demeanor anyway to people who dont piss me off.Halfway through the stop i could smell it coming from my pocket.He apparently didnt cause he gave me my usual ticket and said have a good night and thanked me for wearing my seatbelt without any talk of a search.So yea,i know i have some unsafe practices i should change,like the tint and having it in my pocket.Any thoughts on why leos seem oblivious to the fact im a big stoner?Maybe i have a guardian demon or something. |

I would imagine it's because you're polite and you answer their questions correctly. There are right and wrong answers to cops questions. They ask you those questions for a reason... to figure out something else.
I was wandering if this could also be tied to where we live. I live in PA and some of the other people that said they normally don't get drilled by the police, where also from northeastern states. Could it be that people in southern states get searched and drilled by the police more because they're closer to Mexico? |

Then wouldn't the same be true of some northern border states?
Include "eh" in a sentence while pulled over and you could get profiled as a Canadian smuggler.  |

| True, but look at the Narcotics Interdiction Map. There are almost no markers even close to Canada. |

| Every time a cop runs a check on someone here in Oklahoma the dispatcher lets the cop know if they have 63 (drug) or 88 (dui) traffic. This is standard procedure done on everyone. If you have drug traffic your car will be searched one way or another. |

| I wouldnt trust that analysis on the basis that there just may be none has posted anything about those areas. Not, that those areas arent hot. Not enough specific data from the interdiction map to draw that conclusion. It's member specific for the most part. If Barry were from a North Eastern state, I'm sure his membership would be centered around that area and not Texas. I suspect the interdiction maps reflects this and isnt an actual "picture" of the hottest spots in the country. The entire southwest is hot and you don't see markers all over there....yet. Need many more data points. |

I Worked painting water tanks,all over the southeast through the 90's,Got pulled over Many times for speeding,and with my attitude,and being polite,I usually drove off with out even a ticket,probably 75 % of the time........and had my stash on me or in my car 95% of the time,never even asked to search 100%  |
