Wondering if anyone has noticed any price fluctuations in their area. I am curious as to how our normal economy effects the green economy. smile

down here everything is normal 20-25 a gram of top shelf.

The mexi weed 30-40 and ounce, the only thing that has impacted that is all the violence in juarez with the warring drug cartels. It actually has seemed to make the bud better.

How do the cartels work down there. Is it just like a rivaling business economy with two giants literally fighting?

Same as Cocaine Cartels were in the 80's-90's
The only big busts I see here, are illegal immigrant drop houses that store people and pot, lots of both.
It's not uncommon for the police to raid a middle class residence and pull forty people out of it and a couple hundred pounds in the garage.
I may be wrong, but it seems more and more that the Mexican-American smugglers and dealers prey on the illegals for drug labor. Smuggling, growing, dealing, etc. Lots of Gang connected market here which ultimately means they work for the nearby cartels.

Gangs are a natural revenue tool. I had watched the BET show on my xbox about Freeway Ricky Ross. It said when he made the decision to go to gangs to help serve his drug profits, He had to leave town because there was so much money involved.

Immigrants are and will always be a main source large operations use to mule drugs. Up north it is the same way, with Canadian immigrants bringing in drugs.

This is because the USA has draconian drug laws that are applied to citizens, but generally from my knowledge immigrants caught with drugs are typically sent back to their country of origin for processing, where they face much lesser charges for drug crimes. Ie. use Canadians to bring it in, if they get caught, they are deported back to Canada where they face much less trouble for their drug charge, as opposed to a USA citizen caught bringing in drugs who faces a host of shit.

I for one totally believe that this is why bush is paying so much attention to the southern border... smuggling is what keeps the majority of border states alive. I know alot of business owners in texas and new mexico who are guilty of hiring and illegal immigrant for cheaper labor. untold billions of dollars are saved through illegal labor and billions in the drug trade (no elaboration needed on that).

but really, and i'm sure many will agree, i dont think any of the measures to disrupt the drug economy is really to stop trade... its just to keep the prices high... i mean c'mon how does the goverment fund its war on drugs? by bleeding all tons of confiscated drugs it siezes right back into the market... i mean who the hell in thier right mind is gonna tottally burn millions of dollars worth of dope and then invest millions more to keep the next amount off the street? Whenever we get comfortable with our current state of economy the government throws another freakin wrench in the deal to keep us on our toes... thats how i see it... this whole war on drugs is so stupid... so overrated. its been a war for years now and i can still walk right down the street and get more than enough dope for me my friends, their friends, your freinds and sum!

but anyways back to the original question yes the current state of the economy has affected prices a bit around here but not quite dramatically... I think it has more so affected drug consumption than drug price. Some people i know use to toke a couple ounces a week have dropped back to a ounce due to gas and rent prices and alot of "dealers" (the white tee knuckle heads who spend it as soon as they get it) have dropped out due to the sudden shift in "operating costs" such as fuel. I mean when you live in rural areas like the south and a bite 15 miles away calls you're talkin a good 5-10 dollars round trip!

so yes i do see prices changin a lil more in the future but not seriously... O's will rise a few bucks and people will bicker but hey thats life... thanks for hearing my rant i'll be here again next week big grin
