Time of year sees ups and downs in the market at least from what I see of Commercially grown stuff. Indoor may not be affected so much.
Interdiction efforts in your area. Any big busts lately?
The Economy in general will dictate what people spend money on. I know I am smoking less as my Electric Bill soars for the summer. Less gas in me and more in the tank. Sucks. I see prices here rising a little, but quite probably for the reasons I stated. It's a market and subject to the same influencing factors as any market.
I'm going to move this to "buying and Selling" as its a economic discussion. |

Soc laid it out about right, It can be a caused by multiple things.
Busts, In some area's like mine, most of the weed comes from one or two growers. Last year one of the growers got busted, it was real dry for a while until dealers found new sources. Interesting enough the guy that got busted, with 1000 plants in a field and 500 more in his house is still a free man. Other people have been busted though, so I imagine he rolled.
Crops that get destroyed is another, the guy might not get busted but his crop gets destroyed.
Dealers getting busted, this happens alot around here, dealers seem to be of the retard variety.
Economic reasons, people aren't buying so dealers aren't carrying a lot of stock.
General heat, anyone involved in dealing tends to be paranoid. All it takes is seeing some more cops in town and some rumors and they'll go into hiding. I know a few people that just won't sell to anyone they don't know pretty well during times like that.
In my area it tends to be that we really don't have real dealers. When I say real dealers I mean people that always deal. We have a lot of people that just buy a few ounces and sell it for quick money then they are out till the next time.
The one thing I can always get, only been dry once for 2 weeks due to the transportation breaking down, is commercial. I hate it with a passion but when it's all that's around I'll get it. That and it's cheap, I can get an Oz for $100. Mid's go for $350 and highs are around $600-$700. |

Weed dries up because the big dealers at the top want to make a little more money by controlling the supply and creating inflation.
This keeps the prices of weed stable, and prevents an over-flooding of the market, which would bring down the price.
One thing soc said about the times when things dry up, usually I notice it is the summer time that things tend to get "dry" and hence typically more expensive.
In my opinion, outside of the small town with one main supplier (and even then that hardly ever is the case), the cops making any sort of bust doesn't slow or stop shit.
Busts don't cause inflation, and they do not actually make shit dry up. There is way, way more out there than they could ever actually find. The cops could bust 3 million pounds and 10 dealers, and it wouldn't do nothing in terms of the supply of drugs. They could shut down all the underground tunnels and stop all the planes dropping it in, and there would still be an endless supply.
Any drought or inflation anyone experiences is made up by the dealers and dealers of dealers.
People up north are getting raped on the mids... 100+- an ounce, ludicrous, when down south its +- 30 an ounce. But what are ya gonna do, apparently if people down south want Canadian bud like beasters they are paying out the ass for it too. |

we pay out 180 for mids here in ohio if you are jut buying an ounce unless you are buying to sell then you are paying shitty prices.
Some punks are even charging 25 an eight for weed no joke prolly came up from Arizona or something that cost about 300 a pound. |

The cartels in mexico are going through a little struggle for power. A new cartel is trying to take power but the old cartel is giving it to them pretty good.
Thats a reason weed is crap right now. |

25 an eigth, 40 a quarter, is a fair price for mids at the street level if you are buying in eigths, but 180 an ounce is just rape LoL.
That weed thats 300 a pound probably came from someone who got it for 100 a pound. Where I am its (mids) are about 1000 a pound if you are getting a hooked up deal. |
