Say I refuse to consent to an unreasonable search because I'm innocent and don't have anything to hide but refuse to be treated as if I am a criminal and when the dog comes and gives a false positive. I mention the fact that a dog cannot be probable cause due to the existence of false positives and the fact that a common tactic for canine units is to induce a false positive for vehicles that they deem suspicious on a hunch alone.
Could they just laugh in my face, put me on the hood of their car and ransack the entire vehicle for evidence or plant evidence? |

The answer to this question is a bit lengthy. I will condense the answer and post it this weekend. Your questions deserves time because it is a very important issue!

The officer can then walk a drug dog around the outside of your vehicle.

The Supreme Court has ruled an alert from a documented, trained drug dog is probable cause for search. If the dog alerts, the police have the right to search your car without your permission. If you refuse, you will be arrested for resisting a search because the cops now have probable cause and do not need your permission. If the K-9 false alerted, the cop will never tell you it was a false alert. He will pretend it was real and lie in court.
On the side of the road, you are basically at the hands of the officers when it comes to a false alert. Hopefully your attorney will hire a good expert witness such as myself to point out the false alert in court if you are arrested.
NeverGetBusted.com is currently forming a plan with attorneys and other K-9 experts to expose this injustice at a noisy level. Tell your friends to buy my DVD and help support this cause.
Hope this helps.
