We figured locals planted the few we found in ditch-weed. Farmer camouflage. At least most of the farmers I knew didnt pay ditch-weed any attention as they knew noone smoked it. Livestock and Deer sometimes eat it. Plus it is everywhere. Figured teenagers hiding it from Dad. Lots of rural potheads in America. |

Nahhhh...cause the locals always know where it is and plant far enough away from it
(seriously.......
Lot of areas like that...(or at least like such makes me think of..)....If they're not growing?, they either know someone who is or have a family member who does .....At least from what I have seen over the years.....
Security always great because the smaller the community, the more people talk about anything out of the ordinary....ie: Couple SUV's, birds doing the rounds or a plane extra low, etc, etc.... |

I hadn't thought much about that aspect. This would assume though that one is not an "outsider" to the community, or at least not perceived as any of the above would be by locals. Yes, idle talk at the local public gossip exchanges can be priceless if your privy.
(Where I lived this was at a Casey's Convenience store.) I over heard LOTS! |

More interesting aspect for people is:
No holes......no nutes......dropped on site by birdshit or dropped the year before......rain only......10-12 footers consistently

Funny. A friend and I used to drive the countryside looking for shit like that! It was really not that unusual to find the occasional plant that looked nothing like ditchweed! We used our noses to sometimes find a patch or plant if it was skunky! Mostly we found dead skunks.
We speculated whether or not some of these were as you stated or personal plants. Most were not hidden at all and growing at or in the edges of cultivated fields or near south facing tree lines. Some were in with ditch weed.
There were rumors about the Mennonite and Amish farmers to the north...
 |
Was prolly not a rumor. I live in a pretty populated town surrounded by Amish.
10-1 If you are smoking good nugs, homegrown kind, It comes from them. 3 years ago there was over a 700 pound drug bust |

Well, such matters are not generally known by everyone.. , but, you have quite a few doing the same thing...most know each other, etc.....so.......security issues....news travels fast "Community"......more of a sense of the word then many in larger metros ever experience
(ie: Equivalent for metro would be all of your friends and family living on your block, general area, etc. (Meaning that while your mom might not know, or your sister or her friends.....Your uncle, his brother, your cousin, your friend, and your sisters friends husband, etc, etc might know (cause they grow too
"Outsider"......well..lot of fine print comes with that......ie: If your connected in a way, shape or form to a solid local......then behavior.......and, in the end....time......You can earn your way past that title.....takes the above 3......and patience
I'm a city guy myself, but, have spent more then my share of time in several places.....US and elsewhere.....(Elsewhere?...a whole different ballgame...10 times more secure.......various reasons.....) |
