It's hard to find a definitive answer because there are so many variables. How much, how often, physical activity, BMI, etc.
For a daily smoker up to 10 weeks or so. After a single use THC is detectable for roughly 48 to 72 hours. It begins to breakdown, then you smoke again, that has to metabolize in addition to the 'first' use that is still in the process of breaking down. Your level begins to climb, the higher the level, the longer it takes to get those levels below a detectable amount.
If you are ever in doubt, most pharmacies and head shops sell THC test strips.

Along the lines of MJ testing, one thing I have wondered about is why is the govn't not more open to at least discussion on legalization of pot since it would obviously create a huge revenue stream instead of expense like it is now. Also would help eliminate the black market that exists now due to enforcement.

Is it because there is no test to determine if the user is currently high like the alcohol testing available??

from what I have ascertained from all of the research I have done, the biggest ROADBLOCK for open discussion,at the federal level,is that the petro-chemical,pulp paper, and the Pharmaceutical industries, have ALOT more money to give the politicians, than do the grass roots movements.
it would be a MAJOR hit to those industries,if MJ were legalized. it all sounds like a conspircy therory, but that is the real reason that it is illegal to begin with.
this site is about the leagalism of industrial hemp

and this site is also a very good read

these are just 2 of the sites I have bookmarked for future reference,I hope they help provide some understanding of what we are all up against.

Dawsonspaw forgot to mention the other major obstacle to legalization - the distillers. Seagrams, Anhauser-Busch - I don't remember all the alcohol producers anymore - they also have a vested interest in keeping pot illegal. The Partnership for a Drug-free America, one that does almost all the TV ads, is funded by the liquor companies. I guess they don't see the irony . . .
