meet john,,he owns a successful business and holds a position on the city council. john owns a nice house and likes to smoke pot in the evening in a seperate smoke room just for smoking pot,,

john has 2 daughters age 14 and 15,,the 15 yr old has a girlfriend of hers spend the night one night.(we,ll call her mary)

all is good,,so john thinks.

the next day marys dad comes to johns house to pick her up. mary runs out to the vehicle crying,,she WAS a virgin,,claims john raped her the night before,,she is bleeding and scared.

marys dad calls he cops,,johns house is immediately searched for DNA evidence..johns smokeroom and stash are found,,CPS is called in and john immediately looses his daughters,,majority of rape cases include drugs,,his daughters are deeply and frightenly interrogated by CPS.

no DNA of johns is found on mary,,she claims he used a condom and kept his pants on...only unzipping them to allow his penis out.

john denies everything,,he was in bed with his wife.

john being a public official and well known business man is in all the news the next day. his business takes a terrible hit in the days to come. john also loses his city council position because drugs ( a quarter bag)were found in his residence.

upon further interrogation of mary she eventually breaks down and admits she snuck out of the house and had sex with her 15 yr old boyfriend but was afraid to tell her parents what she did.

johns good name is never cleared in the news. so the damage is done and remains. he did get his daughters back but they will be forever scarred as well.

folks this happens all the time..dont think your immune..learn from johns mistake,,because in life SHIT HAPPENS!

We are too quick to judge the accused as guilty simply because they are accused. We think as a society that we are too smart to have the innocent brought before us! We shirk from the thought that we might in fact judge an innocent because the thought of doing so is harder to live with than an act done in self sustained ignorance.
Such a shallow pool of thought most of the masses bath in...

This is why I feel NO names should be released to the press, until the person is found guilty. There is no such thing as innocent until proven guilty in the USA anymore. As soon as something is printed in a paper or aired on the news the person is presumed to be guilty by 99% of the populace.

Not to mention that the press could give a shit if the person is innocent or not. To the press today all that matters is how much money they can make at the expense of another person.

Frankly the state of the modern press in the united states is horribly. These people could give a shit less about anything other than how much money they can make.

We can all see this, how many times will a paper run a follow up story if the person is found innocent? Never, because they aren't going to make any money off it, and that's what matters to them.

So in closing, fuck the press, fuck the press right in the ass.

approximately 5 years ago I was wrongly accused of a felony crime that involved theft. It was a case of he said, she said. The "he" in this case was an attorney. I was charged in November by mail with my arraignment scheduled for January. 2 weeks before my arraignment it hit the front page of the newspaper, again thanks to "he". I lost my complete upcoming income tax business, in addition to my job as the Director of Transportation for our school district. "He" was on the school board. It was published in the paper on a Monday, by Tuesday I had a certified letter telling me I was banned from school property for life, on Wednesday morning my 93 year old grandmom was found deceased in her home. I was devastated at the loss of my beloved grandmom and my inability to talk to her about these false charges. I was faced with her funeral which was attended by most town folk and I was determined to speak at her funeral in addition to being an honorary pall bearer. There was not one mention of the article in the paper but I felt like there was alot of whispering that day. She did make a phone call to my husband the day it was in the paper, telling him to tell me she loved me and did not believe a word of it. I chose not to talk to her that day because I was hysterical and would not talk to anyone. If I had only known it was to be my last chance to talk to her. Long story short (this might be a 1st) when it was time to decide to take this to trial, I was into legal fees to the tune of $30,000 and my attorney wanted 45,000 more to take it to trial. Our house was mortgaged to the hilt, I had no employment and no tax business, save 2 clients. My reputation was ruined, my gandmom deceased without an explanation from me, my family was in turmoil, I refused to leave the house for 2 years and my key witness was on his death bed with cancer and I could not bring myself to put him through that. I could not come up with 1 reason to try to win this at trial. Had I been found innocent, which I was determined I would, it would have made no difference in the long run. All the damage was done before I was even arraigned. I still struggle to be out and about in my town. Due to time constraints, I had to go to Wal-Mart with my husband last night and I could not wait to get out of there. I think I finally have my hubby convinced to sell the house and move about 1 hour from here and start over. I really would prefer to get a motorhome and go on the road, but at our age and all this has cost us, it is not looking real feasible. No matter whether a person is innocent or not, it will impact the rest of your life. I lived an examplary life until this all happened and now I just don't give a damn anymore.

My give a damn is busted !!
