The tax stamps were made obsolete after the SCOTUS found the Tax Stamp Act to be unconstitutional. the Marijuana tax Stamp Act was repealed when Congress enacted the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970
The ones that exist, however, are collectors items, but they won't prevent you from being busted. |

some states still have tax stamps for cannabis, and they will try and reclaim the tax money if your busted. I can't remember the states I'll look around and report back. I think ontheborder is thinking of the federal tax stamps.
Here's a page on NORML about state tax stamps, http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=6670
And here's a list of the states and the stamps, http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=6668 |

| Well it's taxed, so unless you've been a good drug dealer and sent the state the tax every time you sell a 1/8th your going to be owing some back taxes. If they get you with a pound they can try and collect the tax owed on it and so on and so forth. |

| I worked at a juvenile detention center with a guy who used to be a drug narc agent from Oklahoma. He told me Oklahoma has a tax stamp for Marijuana. He said the sole purpose of it is to add another trumped up charge (usually tax evasion) to the person caught with a pound of Marijuana or more. But he also said who was gonna walk into the state capital and tell them I have 15 pounds of Marijuana in my trunk. I need tax stamps for it. He also believes in Barry's ideologies. He thinks arresting people for Marijuana is stupid. We don't hurt anyone. It was the main reason as to why he left his job. |

We seem to hear this a lot. Sounds like good Cops with a conscious are leaving in numbers. What does that leave us with? |
