A friend of mine had an interesting cop encounter a few years back on a Virginia Interstate. The guy was playing harmonica while driving to a gig. At one point a cop started following him, and soon after another joined him. A few miles later a 3rd car showed up, got in front of him and they all pulled him over.
A cop came up and asked to search his car. He knew his rights, and their lack of probable cause, so he refused, stating the same. Each cop in turn came to the car and tried to coerce and bully him into allowing a search. He asked the 3rd cop what this was about and he finally revealed that someone had reported he was 'using narcotics'. My friend then figured out that his (head-bobbing) harmonica playing- oooh that crazy toker- was misinterpreted as bowl smoking and presented his harmonica 'briefcase' to the cop with all 12 harmonicas. The cop asked to see it, returned to his buddies to show the case, and then returned to my friend.
With as much bravado and faux seriousness as he could muster, the cop said, "Well, if you are not going to let us search your vehicle, then you are free to go".

note: the friend had smoked a joint an hour earlier and had one small roach in his ashtray... |

Dang I was disappointed, when I read the title I thought the cops were really going to play the blues.
