After thinking about how I know my son lies to me and what he does to attempt to cover it has got me thinking. Its not enough to know what signs are given away to police and NOT DO THAT.
I know my son is lying, because he attempts to hide the "lie" signals he is aware of. That is what I see. He isn't aware of what signals he should be projecting. How do you act innocent if you dont know what that should look like to someone?
If I can see this dynamic between a child and myself, I sure don't want to put on my most innocent child face to the police! You see it on every person who is justly suspected.
Barry you could make a documentary just on the body language in various interactions between police and citizens in a controlled situation.
My advice: Carefully watch "Traffic Stops Volume I" as well as shows like "Cops" and "Jail" as if they were documenting the behavior of Lowland Gorillas.
Interesting site describing various aspects of body language:

Subject and topic which one can never read enough, or get enough examples or information.
This one was short but interesting
Another brief breakdown of interest
What many should note......and why many should lean more, is frankly, quite a few people exhibit "deceptive behavior" in statements/body language, when actually not lying....so....should be aware of that......
(Me personally?....an example is I would never swear, or offer my word on something that wasn't true.....I believe to be a matter of honor....and would never consider offering such over a lie...yes, that is something pointed out as deceptive behavior........)...I also only use the phrase "trust me" when I am absolutely 100% certain...so...people should have an interest if only to see how their own behavior is analyzed.....
A lot is very interesting and always simple to learn.......as quite a bit tells the story quite simply.......ie: One not answering a question but telling a story.....(My personal favorite in life ......I didn't ask you for a story.....I didn't question any aspect of your life....I asked a simple question, warranting a cut and dry answer not open to interpretation.... |
