Oh, and I'm Hit

I would do one of two things;

1. Be very cooperative with those prosecuting you, tell them where you got the meth, or who's meth it really was and help them find those dealers. Meth is a deadly and highly addictive substance, derived from an extremely non-natural process and anyone messing around with it is truly selling death.

2. Get the hell out of dodge.

Meth is serious, it kills a lot of people and ruins their bodily function. I would seriously reconsider my friends knowing they are doing that sort of thing.

I believe that methamphetamine is dangerously addictive. I have done some experimenting with drugs in my time and I can say that meth/cocaine are evil substances with horrific come-downs. I have no problem with your being prosecuted. What do you expect the cops to let you go just because you say its not yours? Comon thats a little naive, I mean 16 grams and 1700 smackers? I think its obvious to any idiot your a drug dealer.

They sold my car at auction and kept my $1700 which I had legally earned. I'm on my 2nd attorney and $20,000 poorer.

The car wasn't legally mine either, I was driving it with my friend's permission.

Now I'm not sure who's car it was, and it very well might not matter...but if imhit23 is having a tough time keeping his story straight on the forums, he's going to have an even tougher time when he stands trial.

If it wasn't his car, he shouldn't have been driving it. This case goes well beyond just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Imhit23 can't or won't come up with an explanation for the dope in the car which, by the way, was not pot but rather a truly dangerous substance, and never offered a reason why he was carrying $1700 in cash. He is probably deserving of his ultimate fate. Sorry, but that's reality.

As an added note, it's been my experience in dealing with the police over my life time that a little respect goes a long, long way. Sure, I've been shaken down and been given a ticket or two that I shouldn't have been, but I've also been treated well. I've been given breaks I didn't deserve and allowed to walk away from situations where I easily could have been taken into custody for the simple reason that I was polite and cooperative. Of course, I've never been stupid enough to buy, transport, hold or sell anything more potent than marijuana, either. Take it for what it's worth, people.

Because in all honestly it is usually downright easy to build a good drug case using valid reasonable suspicion and probable cause. It is harder to lie a case into existence than to just build a good case to begin with.

This really depends on who busts you. If it's a federal agency, your fucked. Period. 98.5% conviction rate last time I bothered to check. Same rate on Appeal. Conspiracy convictions far outweigh cases where a case was built on random detection and search such as on our highways. Snitches prevail and in some cases profit from it.
Federal cases are predominantly based on flat out lies to avoid conviction or harsher sentencing "enhancements" Agents utilize most snitches like a dog handler would.
Ive been to federal and state Prisons. The state, I was young, stupid and deserved what i got. Period.
Federal was harsh, but enlightening to say the least. I've been a good boy for a long time now and don't leave my house much. I have a lot to lose. I love smoking the herb though. Razz

I had a similiar situation happen to me in 1996 where I was pulled over and during the inventory search a baggie corner and set of digital scales were found. I was told the reason for the search was due to my license being suspended. For whatever reason the fact was that my license was not suspended proven by the printout obtained from the DMV the next day by a family member.
Upon receiving my discovery paperwork I also noted the reason the cop pulled me over was due to looking suspicious. I had a public defender that actually did what was asked of him by me and went for supression of evidence because driving a pick-up truck at proper speed, no faulty equiptment, illegal turns or infraction of the law would make me suspicious.
My advice to you if you have not already done so is to make yourself familiar with the penalty and sentencing guidles for the amount of meth envolved. Prior to this traffic stop I plead guilty to a meth charge but was not informed of a mandatory $100,000.00 fine, or 10:00 pm curfew until the day of sentencing at which time I was coherced into signing the plea-bargin. I believe that 16 grams is considered trafficking currently so most likely there is a mandatory fine if you were to take probation. Furthermore if you are offered a plea for probation and take it, you'd best be sure that you in fact DO NOT USE or have dealings with people that do during your probation term. Probation seems like such a great alternative to prison time but should you violate chances are you will end up with more prison time than the initial charge carried.
Know the law and make your attorney do their job. Really reseach the max penality for your charge and make sure the max is really what they are telling you and not a scare tactic.

People who think it wasn't his car should read the first post again. He repeatedly states "my car" and "my vehicle". The idea that it wasn't his car was posted by someone else. Maybe you guys that think it wasn't his car should cut back a little.

But there is another point that has gone unnoticed. This guy cuts the crap out of his dope. 16 grams only had one gram in it????? He is a ripp off. He doesn't want to just double his money he wants to make 16 times his money back. He is burning down the idiots he sells to. He is a meth dealer that has no morals at all. He should go away for 60 years so the rest of use don't have to endure his ripping people off.

Not everybody that gets busted is innocent and not every cop is a bad cop. If I was a cop and knew this guy had been found with 16 grams of meth, cut or not, I would do all the false alerts and any other method I could to get his ass off the streets for as long as I could. Meth dealer are the scum of the earth. I see the damage meth does all the time were I live. You have to make a difference between innocent pot smoking and a meth dealer.
