does seed also make unique smell and drug dogs would
catch it?
I'm planning to go over-sea trip this year and
wondering how safe it would be if I carry some
seeds with me.
Someone told me that drug dogs at air port can
actually smell out marijuana and opium seeds,
where I think its pure BS, but just wanted to
double check with many experts at here if its
true or not..
Marijuana includes its seeds and stems. A k-9 can detect these. The question is will s/he? One seed has such a low odor source, the K-9 would have to have his nose almost on the seed to detect it. 500 seeds together has a larger odor source and can easily be detected by a dog.
I would feel safe hiding 10 or 15 seeds (each hidden individually) throughout an auto or luggage. I would also feel safe hiding seeds in a bag of mixed nuts or such.
If a k-9 were to alert, the searching officer would probably think the k-9 is wrong or is alerting to residual odors. Seeds are hard to spot.
Use your imagination and you will be fairly safe transporting seeds.
