| Ihave a hiding spot in my jeans. Any one can do this actually but i unzip my zipper and that spot under it that is a sewed enclosed pocket i cut a hole in the top and stick my stuff down there then zip my zipper back up. Ok so say i get pulled over and let the cops search my car and empty out my pockets and pat me down they cant feel cock right? And say they do get a k9 unit out are the dogs allowed to smell me or do i have to be in the back of the cop car. I no if i go to the station they can prolly thoroughly search through my jeans but if they dont findd it in the first place i have no reason to go to the station right? |

Hmmm...depends. Any interdiction or narcotics officer that knows anything knows that people hide their stuff in the zipper area of their jeans. If I have probable cause to search a person I always check the zipper area. Since I am not technically exposing them it is not considered a strip search so I have more leeway. If I have no probable cause but you give me permission to go through your pockets etc. and search your car I will ask you as I'm going for your zipper if I can search there.
Also, remember that if the cop is certain that you have something on you or in your car but they cannot find it but they have some other non-drug related charge they can arrest you for (i.e. suspended driver's license) they will arrest you for that and then search your car better and have you searched at the jail.
The old saying that there is more than one way to skin a cat is very true in law enforcement. |

| what if i say "no you cannot go by my zipper area" and I have not broken any other law, can they do anything or do they have to let me go? Also can they have the k9 unit smell me and obtain probable cause to go into my zipper right there? |

If they have no probable cause for the search and you never give consent or you withdraw consent then legally they have to stop.
Also, unless you are at the airport or at the border it is very unlikely that you will encounter a K-9 that is trained to sniff a person. A normal municipal or county law enforcement agency will not have one. Their K-9 will only be allowed to sniff vehicles etc., not people, so you are safe. |
