Ok i'll try and make this short. I was sitting in my apartment today just browsing the internet and listening to music and i thought i heard someone knocking on the front door but it sounded like the kids above us running around. I finally decided to check it out but noone was there but then as i was walking off i heard someone at our back door (it's a sliding door) and they were trying to open it. So i got a little freaked out. I live with 2 roomates and both of them are gone so at first i thought maybe it was one of them and they forgot their keys or something but if that was so they would just call me to let them in. So i wasent' sure what was up. And so like 5-10 minutes pass and im just sitting in my room and i hear someone outside my window messing with stuff and all of a sudden i hear my window raise up and this guy pushs the blinds to the side and it's a guy that lives in my apartment complex. I was like what are you doing? He's like i was knocking at your front door. And i just stared at him and he's like wat are doing? I'm like this is my apartment what are you doing? And he just got up and like walked off so i shut my window and by this point i was just freaked out. I didnt know what to do. And the guy actaully lives in the apartments in front of me with his mom and like brother and i'm not sure who else. I've always thought he was shady so i've never let him in my apartment but he always comes to my door asking for green cause he knows i smoke but i always tell him i dont have any. So i thought about calling the cops but since i smoke and have some pipes and such i'm afraid he could tell them and then they'll search my appartment. Or police will come into my room just to check out the window or something? What should i do in this case?
That guy was definitely breaking into your place. If I were you I would call the police. Hide your pipes etc. in a good spot and let them in to show them the window where he tried to get in. This guy will likely try again and it would be a good idea to have this incident in a report so that he will be the most likely suspect next time. If he tells the cops you smoke weed that still would not be enough to get a warrant because it is unlikely that he is a reliable informant. However, if you do make a report you must cut off any association with him. In fact, I would have the police place him on trespass notice for your address. That way if he comes on your property he can be arrested. Just my 2 cents.

I agree.
The cops aren't going to put a lot of stock in anything the guy has to say. They tend to not pay much attention to the guy in the back of the cruiser who's wearing the handcuffs.
If it were my window he was trying to crawl through, he wouldn't be able to tell the cops anything. He'd be unconscious when they arrived.
