After seeing the video i am positive i got pulled over for a profile arrest....five teenage kids in the car at 2 am in the morning....the cop just followed us waiting for a mistake, and when i didnt make one i guess she just decided to make something up.
She said, verbatim, "you look a little too young, i smell alcohol, and your tail light is out" .....my tail light was not out.....she eventually arrested me for three drug/alcohol charges, and CROSSING THE WHITE LINE.....she never said anything about a white line when she pulled me over, is it illegal for her to write me a ticket for something she never even told me about?! |

Yep, that was a profile stop for sure. Hell, I'd pull over a car full of teenagers at 2am. However, she probably did have a valid, legal reason to stop you. It is ridiculously easy to find a reason because there are a myriad of easily breakable traffic laws to choose from.
No, it is not illegal for her to write you a ticket for something she never told you about. If she observed it she can write you for it, bottom line. It would have been nice for her to tell you about it though.
Also, and questions like this never get brought up on this forum, what were you, a teenager, riding around drinking for? Do you not see the DUI accident/death statistics? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for personal freedom, but not when your freedom to drink and do drugs crosses over onto my public roadway. Did it ever cross your mind that if you had just stayed put somewhere and drank there instead of driving you would have never been caught? Next time be safe, not dumb. |
