I don't know about other states , But various cities here in Illinois have signs posted (Police don't profile )
That being said POLICE ALWAYS PROFILE , And i'm not totally against it either.
If you look like , Dress like, Act like , A Gang Banger , Whether you are White , Black, Or Mexican Police should pay closer attention to you .
Because more times then not you are probably up to no good.
The point i'm trying to make is if you fit in General society, Drive a car like most hard working Americans , Dress properly, Act and talk properly you will not only get treated with more respect from people in general , But the police will also show you respect.
BLEND IN TO YOUR SUROUNDINGS and you won't be subject to PROFILING .
I like to add to this If you are cruising around town and you have a car load of guys inside , you will attract attention , I see it around by me all the time .
Some of the the guys have there baseball caps on side ways which is a Gang member red flag, But even non gang bangers wear there caps side ways and you wonder why the cops follow you around and often will pull you over. |

Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought that is was only racial profiling that was allegedly banned. (notice, I said allegedly. I'm not accusing law enforcement of right-doing) 
But seriously, other types of profiling are still commonly and openly used, i.e. narcotics profiling, profiling a serial killer, etc. |

Instead of sheepishly acquiescing to a police state, stand up for your rights. Blending in is fine when you've got something to hide, but when you don't, act and dress freely. If LE is harassing the profiled suspects, and they consistently come up clean, their type will no longer fit the narcotic profile. Like when a pot smoker graduates college and works hard as a respectable citizen (i.e. an ex-cop  ), they break the stereotype of the "pothead". |
