While we have been debating non-permeable packaging lately why not discuss our own ideas and methods.
In my state personal possession if under 1oz is a civil violation, not even a misdemeanor crime. Different states have their own attitudes towards a smoker so the following may not work for you.
I use a nug-jar, it's a blown glass jar about the size of a baby jar. It's effective for containing the smell for a LEO, never tested on a dog but am sure cross contamination from frequent handling would trigger an alert from a properly trained K9. However the lack of any baggie lends the idea that I am NOT a dealer. Dealers are the only people of interest around here, the only indoor grow that I know of being raided in this county was conducted on a legal grow. The neighbors called it in as a meth cook operation, nothing came of it.
Would other people please post state/local LEO policies and any interesting carry tips? |

| I try not to carry anything more then a few joints on me. The only time I ever have more is on my way back from a pick-up. |

Law here in NC is 1 1/2 oz and under for misdemeanor. Everything over that is felony. We never carry more than 42 grams except when we absolutely have to. When we do, it's professional and everything looks straight edge and obsessively clean.
We've been pulled before, and really, there's so many impoverished people here in Charlotte, it lowers the bar way down if you don't look the part. Basically all you have to do is dress business casual and not have dark ass tints with spinners and the chances you're getting randomly searched become one in a million.
Ironically, our nation's failed drug policy is IMHO the biggest factor contributing to the rampant poverty in my city, especially in minorities, who are more often uneducated, and therefore more likely to be ignorant of the law and ignorant of ways to safely transport, and then of course they're arrested, and then overnight turned into career criminals that will terrorize their community for years to come. That bitch on Fox news telling Barry about how kids without exception always start on marijuana makes my blood boil. Of course they start on marijuana, you turned a wonderful hobby into a sin and made the blessed herb illegal so the average american 14 year old is forced to buy mexican brick from a local coke dealer. And they're uneducated, poor kids from the hood, and they want nice things just like your standard yuppie child so next thing you know they're selling/distributing cocaine BECAUSE OF YOUR FAILED EXCUSE FOR A INSITITUTION OF JUSTICE.

LEO's in Charlotte are virtually always professional and kind, especially the state troopers, who will ticket their own mother, but thankfully won't pull any bullshit random searches unless again, you look the part. There are at least 2 dozen k-9 SUV units on patrol, I see them everywhere, always posted in a convienent spot in case a refusal comes over the radio.
In the smaller, more country towns, be prepared to get pulled over for line collusion or some bullshit, and get ticketed. Don't get angry though, or else you're fucked.
Take Barry's advice guys and be aware. Some might call this paranoia. Cooperate with police officers, and don't ever give them even the slightest hint of fishiness.
Get your shit together, stay the fuck away from hard drugs (virtually everything other than weed/alcohol/mushrooms) and propagate some good karma. You'll be fine. |
