Barry, can a trained dog searching the interior of a car point out to an officer exactly where in the car the mj is ?

The reason I ask is because if these dogs can easily point out exactly where in the car there is mj, then it would necessitate us coming up with even more clever hiding places (such as mentioned in the dvd.) And, if it is the case that the dogs are indeed very good at helping the officers find well hidden stashes, then it would lend even greater weight to your position of granting consent to a search, rather than waiting for a K-9 unit. Though if you do consent to a search, I guess they could they still call in a K-9 unit.

Bottom line is that with Barry's so very valuable help, we can beat these guys at their own game ~ this is an instance where knowledge is power and Barry has just handed it to us. Thanks Barry !!!

Berry kinda said in the dvd... when he got a quick consent, he didn't really thourghly (damm no spell check) seach, and let the guy go on.

I always thought, it's best not to get profiled in the first place.

I have a mini van that had big wheels & low profile tires, chrome tailights etc. etc. but not any more. it's a church van. embarrassment now its going to be hard to shave my goatee I'm still debating Confused

Dogs are extremely accurate at pinpointing the stash.

Giving consent is less likely to trigger a K-9 search. Refusing consent always triggers a K-9 if one is available.

Barry, what amount of time are they allowed to keep you there while they call up the K9? 15 minutes, 1/2 hour?

Hello - Playitsafe.
In reading your question.
embarrassment It sounded like an AD for BARRY- and his program. embarrassment - If you wanted to "Play it safe" you would leave your dope at home.- If your safe at home and you don't sell dope- the cops never come and harass you there. If you sell it then you gotta expect some- jackass will rollover on you... as long as there are rats there will be a way to catch dope-sellers.

i say the best way to not get busted is to keep your car looking as normal as possible, meaning dont trick it out and keep up regular maintenance such as lights, etc, keep yourself looking as normal as possible ie keep your seat up right, dont lean like a gangster, keep yourself tidy, if its not sunny, no sunglasses, obey all traffic laws, and dont smoke in your car/while driving...

Freesoul...the courts have never given a definitive time limit on holding someone while waiting for a dog. They look at each case individually and look at the totality of the circumstances to determine whether or not the amount of time one was held is reasonable or not.

Anytime I get pulled over and asked if they can search the car I say NO.Only one time they actually did search my car was because I had some illegal fireworks in plain site..DOH.Even then, they confiscated the fireworks, and did not search the rest of the car.

I have not watched Barry's dvd yet, but in my experiences, If you consent to an officer searching your car, you mine as well roll over and say "rape me".

If you allready have a warrant out on you, then you have no choice, they will search the car.I got lucky on that once, the officer found a couple roach's and a small bag of mj(less then a dime bag). The officer said "Im gonna save you about $700 in fines and drop the mj charge.I was sooo happy.

There were a few occasions were I was pulled over when I was completely baked, and my eyes showed it.I was polite and answered all the officers questions. They ALWAYS ask If I had been drinking, and I can honestly tell them no.Here in Michigan I think cops realize that mj is not a dangerous drug, and it probably saves them from having to go to numerous domestic violence cases. Our state is in a budget crises, think of all the money we could save if we released all the mj offendors! Also, think about all the money we could make if we actually legalized and taxed mj!@#

30 t0 45 mins based on a number civil cases Mesa v Ohio, for one All well informed/trained officers know this (particularly state troopers as they would be the ones most likely to suffer a Title 85 suite for a long holding) yet, they will only bend this if they know or have the feeling that you know. Hint; go to a used book store and by a criminal procedure 1st year law book and just keep it in plane view in your car. IT WILL WORK
