 Early this summer I stopped at a convenience store to pick up some rolling papers. I noticed that the man in front of me in line stuck around till after I paid for my items. On my way out of the store he shows me his badge and it turns out he is an undercover officer. He starts to ask me wheres the marijuana, when I tell him I don't have any he goes into the well whats the papers for, and he knows that im lying to him. Like you have said I might have been a bit naive but I thought this cop KNEW that I had dope by the way he was talking. Like u say he was very intimidating. I gave up my marijuana which was in my pocket which probably amounted to about 2 grams. He then told me that my pot was shitty and that he is looking for bigger fish. He was then adimate about me telling him where I got the pot from or I was to go to jail for this. After a little while of stalling I told him that I bought it from the next town over since I figured it would be out of his jurisdiction. I don't know why he gave me a break but he did, he told me to stop my marijuana out on the ground and I could go on my way.
I got a break this time but now I am a "criminal" on supervised probation for 12 months with a 45 day suspended sentence for possessing marijuana and paraphernalia and following too closely from another incident. I suspect that I was profiled as a marijuana user to get pulled over for following too closely to begin with. I gave him the pot that time too and he still did an extensive search afterwards. Every time I have been stopped with marijuana on me I have given it up hoping for a 'break' from these cops if I was straight up with them. I wish I could have seen your dvd years ago man!!
By the way this was the citgo station on hodge rd and knightdale blvd. in Knightdale, North Carolina. Ive heard from friends about similar incidents happening at that gas station, and other gas stations by the Knightdale Police Department. |

I always answer a question with a question if its a social get together like you described.
Papers? Why are papers illeagal?
NO? so I dont need to be discussing this and Im in a hurry so have a nice day officer, unless Im being arrested, am I being arrested? try to monopolize the conversation and dont forget to ask if your civil rights are being violated. |

It is totally up to the officer what if any charges, intimidation, or just straight fucking with you.
Possibility is that nwfinest might have an attitude towards LEOs that provokes harassment. A jerk is a jerk, behind a badge and gun or not. LEOs often have to deal with people who magically lose all civility in their presence. 90% of cops I've encountered have not given me the smallest bit of attitude. The other 10%... well so what! There are rude people everywhere, blow it off.
Be respectful and keep asking what I'm under arrest for, or am I free to go. There is nothing in the law that says you have to answer a cop's questions. JUST DON'T LIE! |
