What if you K9 fellers put an ounce of herb into a small glass mason jar and sealed it as directed? Double gloves for the handling, of course...What would be the dogs reaction?

As soon as the odor permeates through the jar, the dog will alert! Glass is also porous.

shame how cops read this and find out all the tips but so many people can still manage to beat the system.

Don't worry, most of these tips cannot be countered! And A1K9 has more human compassion then he displays on this board...and A1K9, if you have lost your compassion,...shame on you!

I've been trying to find the Cellophane vacuume bags but there is so much "Food Saver" stuff when you Google it I got tired of looking for them. I've found them before just never ordered them. They are 3 times the price of the normal bags. Plus since I looked at these things there have been tons of improvements in bags like PVC and Mylar.

The Cellophane bags are supposedly vapor proof, it's the kind of bag you see catfish bait packaged in. If someone wants to hunt these down I'd like to see Barry test these with a dog along with some of the newer high tech mylar bags.
You can get the poly bags in 2ml,3ml,4ml and 5ml thickness also. The thicker the better.

There has to be a bag out there that will stop a dog from smelling what's in it.

Personally myself if I was going to go on a long road trip tomorrow and wanted to take an ounce with me I'd put in a baggie then wrap that in a bunch of saran wrap, then put that in a turkey bag and then a seal a meal bag then put that in a Pepsi or water bottle stash can and then put that in an ice chest with the rest of my sodas and waters. I wouldn't worry a bit about a cop or dog finding it.

The thing I find funny about A1K9 is his hypocracy.

He busts people for smoking cannabis then goes home and probably opens up a Coors Light with his meal and gets drunk with his police "brothers." God created Cannabis, man created Alcohol, take your pick.

Oh and its not spelled "cannibus" you highschool drop out. There is no "bus" sound in that word...

Keep our streets clean of non-violent offenders; our founding fathers would be proud! I bet you would arrest that dam "weed head" George Washington for toking and growing the "dope."

And what are you doing reading internet posts of stoners? You got to clean up those streets!

Matter is pretty much empty space. If an atom wasexpanded to the size of an airport runway, the nucleus would be the size of a golf ball that is placed in the center of the runway.

Now, overtime, no matter the substance, the smell particles will slowly but surley escape through the container.

May be we should think about 'trap' them, not seal
them.

Such as various ONA (Odor Neutralizer Agent)or
Active Carbon. Also ONA comes in many types; gel, liquid, sold, powder etc.

If we wrap MJ with regular wrap lightly, then apply
ONA or Active Carbon on top of it, wrap again, and through it into not so tight-fit but a bit larger container.

Wouldn't it work better than try to seal it in
thick layers of layers?

ONA or Carbon will trap the smell particle, and
greatly reduce the smell contamination.

Any opinions?

The carbon might be worth a try, the ONA is more of a masking agent and probably wouldn't work.

What a pain in th ass huh? All we want to do is to be able to carry a little weed in the car and not worry about getting tossed in jail for it.

I still think a 1/4 oz or so in a vacuum bag or turkey bag and then that in a Pepsi stash can in your cooler with a bunch of other drinks is pretty safe..maybe not fool proof but still pretty safe.

Again, it will leak out of the carbon even; it would just take longer since carbon's molecular structure is more closer woven so there is more blockage.

I agree there's no 100% odor blocker that we can
get it in normal life.

My best guess is wrap it -> top it with carbon ->
wrap it again -> apply liquid silicon entire area

and it will slow ordor release for good.

OK then, here we go. God. God also put the authorities where they are ( if we are speaking of the bible here)the authorities make the laws and enforce them.(Rm 13)

Last time I checked beer was a legal substance, so I don't have to worry about whats in my house. And get drunk with my Police buddies, if I wanted to I could without having to worry about my door being kicked in. If I violate the law then there is a worry. Weed might be a great thing, trouble is its against the law. You folks pay us to enforce the laws, not make them, not to decide which are good and which are bad. We just do what we do. Some do it well, some do it poorly, some do it wrong. If you don't like the laws, run for office or get one of your buddies to and vote for him.

I hope you don't keep on bein' pissy about stuff. This was kinda fun. Now your getting kinda mean. Buddy Barry will tell ya, I don't dislike or hate anyone. Business is business.

So do you have any moral issues with tossing someone in jail and costing them a few thousand dollars for a small amount of marijuana when you know the law is unjust and unfair?
Do you ever let someone walk when you find an ounce or less?

I guess you might have to define "small amounts of marijuana". A small amount of marijuana in Texas and many other states could simply get you a ticket at worst a joint is a misdemeanor. People going to prison for weed just doesn't happen in user amounts. I've done people on 200 lbs. that are not in prison. And yes I've poured out some small amounts of dope before, just because it was too small to mess with this near the border. The moral issue you may be missing is: Is it moral to accept a job, being paid hard earned tax dollars and not doing the job you were paid to do? This board is a great way to keep this in perspective. Thanks Silver Tooth.

I can understand that way of thinking also.

Small amount to me is an ounce or under. I personally never travel with more than a 1/4 ounce or less in the car. Last time that got me arrested(about 3 grams)mostly due to my dumb ass and carelessness but still I would have appreciated the guy just letting me go or writing me a ticket/summons for it. That 3 grams ended up costing me $2600 in fines, bail and court costs plus a night/day in jail.

Trust me with 5 kids to support that hurt big time.

And just to give you a hard time lets leave religion out of it.

God also said you can sell your sister into slavery..Exodus 21:7
And that you should be put to death for working on the Sabbath..Exodus 35:2

We don't pay attention to those rules so why should we follow Romans 13?

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31) The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall … speak lies in hypocrisy … commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3)

Some more religion for you, sorry but I was practically raised by a preacher.

It was God who created cannabis hemp and told mankind to use "every green herb" on Earth. The Bible speaks of mercy, healing and a persecution of God's children. They persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. (Psalms 119:86) Prisons and drug wars do not save souls. The Lord… hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. (Isaiah 61:1)

He is speaking a little mean but understand he is new to the board and probably has a viable reason to hate cops!!! Don't take it personal A1K9...you are a cop you know!

With that attitude, you would have beaten the escaped slaves because "it was the law." Also, you know as well as I the law says "cops MAY arrest for marijuana not "SHALL" arrest." Each cop does have the choice! Please respond to this argument.

WRONG!!! How about the hundreds of thousands in prison for peeing dirty for marijuana causing their probation to be violated. Probation is being used to raise massive amounts of money and is usually a prolonged prison sentence. Also, first offense with small amounts might not go to prison but they certainly go to jail: 750,000 per year across the U.S. In Texas...61,000 each year with 60,000 of those being simple possession. They might not go to prison but they do spend time in the nasty county jails where inmates say "prison is love compared to these places." I believe as part of an officers and prosecutors ongoing education, they should have to spend 3 days per year in jail...not in population where they will get hurt...but in jail, eating the same food, smelling the same smells, using the bathroom while others watch etc. This would certainly change the compassion level of most officers.

I would like to start by saying that I come from a military family and have complete respect those who serve the public good. The issue I have is there are many with power, be it law enforcement or politics, that fail to realize that the authority they have has been given by the people with the sole, explicit intent that they act in the best interest of the people. I do not include everyone in law enforcement in this category, I myself have caught a couple of breaks or my life would be very different.

House Bill 2391, effective Sept. 1st 2007 gives officers discretion to write a summons for possession of 4 ounces or less of marijuana, as long as the accused lives in the same county as the offense. However several police departments have publicly stated that they will continue to arrest regardless of the amount.
We can set aside for a moment the political / philosophical debate concerning cannabis and it's prohibition and focus on the logistics.
These departments and officers are showing a complete disregard for the will of lawmakers and the people. As well as a seeming ingorance of the end-game, i.e. a reduction in prison overcrowding.

So, when an officer states that they just enforce the law, to an extent that is what would be considered a "non-operationally defined statement"

An Example: Texas Law states that for misdemeanor possession of marijuana that an officer MAY arrest. If he chooses to arrest he is "just enforcing the law". If he writes a summons he is "just enforcing the law". Due to the fact an officer can arrest you in Texas for a traffic violation, the same argument could be made for speeding.

Please don't consider this a personal attack, simply an explanation of the general..shall we say discontent.. with police encounters. It's pretty obvious to me that you are not threatened by a free exchange of information. I personally am glad to hear from someone in Law Enforcement who will engage in a civil discourse with a motley crew such as this. (Myself included of course.)

Just as a side note, I am one of those people who are working to change the laws, educate the public and get people involved in Law Reform. Barry knows me, I put in about 20 hrs. a week to that end in addition to working a full time job. So, I don't just sit on the sidelines and bitch, I'm an active participant.

Oh yeah, just so I don't feel left out, here's one for ya:
"These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; do not plot evil against your neighbor, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this," declares the LORD.
-Zechariah 8:16-17
(I'm Buddhist by the way, but wise words are wise words)
