Hope this hasn't been asked and answered already. i tried looking around.
I've heard that many people mail MJ to themselves, or have friends do it, etc. Here are the "facts" i've been told about it, and am wondering what is true, and what is false...
1. the USPS cannot open any package by law (unlike fed ex or ups, who can open your stuff if they want to)
2. if you put a fake person's name on the package, you can just play dumb about something being sent to you.
3. search dogs aren't used for the mail
any other helpful hints on this subject from barry or anyone?
thanks barry for all your doing. your DVD is awesome. |

Packages can be opened with a search warrant based on an informant's tip and K-9 alert.

You will still be in possession if caught and will probably go to jail but you can easily win in court by arguing you don't know who sent the package!

Yes they are but very infrequently.
You're pretty safe using this method.

I've been through this.
Few things I learned the hard way.
1. If they know what's in it they will ask you to sign for it. I mean on a package that normally doesn't require a signature.
2.Don't send overnight, that is a red flag. Send it normal mail or 2-3 day priority. These methods don't require the receiver to sign. If they do ask don't sign for it just say you don't know who sent it and that you don't want it.
3. Don't open the package right away once you get it. Set it by the door and write "return to sender" on it. If they don't come flying through your door within an hr. or two you are probably OK.
If they do come in this won't keep you from going to jail that day but it will stop them from convicting you.
They have to give you a "reasonable amount of time" to be an honest citizen and report that you have received something illegal and that you want to turn it in or report it. If you never opened it before they come in they are screwed in court especially if you have "return to sender" on it. Using a fake name is good also but might make your local Postman suspicious if he knows you and most know their routes well. Sending it with a name "in care of" is better.

I think mailing it is safer than traveling with it now days.
I had charges dropped because they came in 10 minutes after delivering the package. |
