Often times i am left to smoke in my car, but when i do it is in a neighborhood, away from the main roads. Is this a smart idea because there are less police there or is this not so smart because of the amount of people around (although i do not take a hit if i can see any person or any other vehicle)

thank you

Take a walk instead of smoking in your car.

Ideally, the roads would be low traffic and minimal intersections. Never hit as you approach a blind curve or intersection. Go the speed limit, if there is traffic going the same direction as you try to maintain a safe buffer. If you smoke cigarettes, light one. Take ahit, hold it in and blow it out an open window when the coast is clear. If an officer begins going in your flow of traffic, pull into the first business you can find. Don't give him a chance to even know you exist.
The only fault I see with a residential area is in the event you are pulled over if you are in a neighborhood without reason it will trigger the cops suspicions, even if he doesn't otherwise notice anything. I'm not sure about where you're at, but in Dallas, there are alot of major side roads that are packed during rush hour, but almost deserted at other times. Also, if you're not driving a cop magnet major highways are good, if you see a cop "rolling" try to exit before you reach him.
