Hey Barry,
I understand that this a public forum and all that goes with that. My question is about the erosion of our rights to privacy from the government. If the 'man' decides to go after you and 'confiscates' this website, will all of us dozen people that are brave enough to speak out publicly at all end up on some government list of subversives? Are you able to protect our privacy?
I am curious as to why there are so few posters. Is it fear of such invasions? or is this site just so new? It seems that with all the TV exposure you have been getting, there would be more going on at this site. What's your take?
BTW - I think you are a complete breath of fresh air and a huge asset to rational thinking about ganja use . Prisons are BIG BUSINESS, and incarcerating good folks for herbal medicine or recreation has a nefarious motivation.Thank you for your work and honesty. |

| There are a lot of reasons to be paranoid -- but this is not one of them. |

This happened to a MAJOR internet website dedicated to cannabis and growing it. It was called "Overgrow" and the owner somehow got it shutdown by the police and prosecuted for something.
By you being a member of a website like that and saying you smoked or grew or what ever, cannot be held as just evidence. You can walk up to an LEO and say im high, and he cannot do a thing about it, except question you and try to trick you to give up your rights. |

We could not stop England from taking our rights from us so we came to America. If our rights continue to be stripped from us now that we are here, look out because Americans are smart and are quickly figuring things out. I can only protect your privacy by refusing subpoenas (which I'll do) and by shredding order information (which I do). As far as being on a government list of subversives...don't worry about that. Leaders are placed on these lists. It is impossible to place 42% of America on a list (this is the number who admits to trying marijuana at least once). Fortunately, you and I are still protected by freedom of speech so we can stand up and be heard!

We are only 9 months old so being new is part of it. The other part is fear. I understand this fear. It is real and justified. Not everybody is in my position to be able to say the things I say...so I speak for those people. The people viewing this board compared to posters is astronomical. This is why I always encourage the posters we have because thousands of people read their posts!!!

No matter how secure one may think we are, there is always the possibility that someone with a grudge and a little skill might be able to use our participation in this forum as a point from which to move toward probable cause. I would prefer that no request be made and no record of any individual's email address--or any other personal information--be kept.
The knowledge that our position against prohibition is morally correct sometimes engenders an attitude of invincibility in those of us who have not yet been hurt. |

During the Seattle Hemp Fest, I witnessed the police watching over 100,000 people celebrate cannabis by smoking it and selling related items.
NORML has 250 attorneys aboard who smoke pot.
Ron Paul is running for President of the United States and has publicly announced he will end the Drug War and make all drugs legal if elected.
Bill Richards is Governor of New Mexico. He is also running for President. He just made med. marijuana legal in his state and put the burden on the State to grow it!
If mine and your posts get us on a list, then so are those mentioned above and then Barnes and Nobles, Virgin Records and Amazon.com are on the same list for carrying my DVD.
I honestly do not know of any such "list" of marijuana enjoyers. I am sure the government keeps tabs on leaders in the movement to ensure violent uprising are not in store but seriously doubt they have a list of citizens who enjoy smoking pot.
If such a list is ever discovered, all pot smokers should sign up on the list voluntarily as an act of civil disobedients.
I realize a lot of people could not actually do this because they might lose their job but...maybe sacrifice is what we need to bring back to the U.S. citizens vocabulary.
You are safe to post here.

Being on some gov't list because I happen to discuss the failure that is the "War On Drugs" is the least of my worries.
If there were such a list, it would probably be under the one listing all the unfortunate souls that pissed hot on a pre-employment drug test.
One of the most important freedoms we enjoy is the freedom of speech granted us under the 1st Amendment.
So let them put me on a list for speaking my mind, because, as Andy Sipowitz (of NYPD Blue) would say: "Even a first year legal aid hump with gravy stains on his tie could beat that hummer bust" |

ya they can trace your IP address even through the best firewalls, my brother knows how to hack tells me how it mostly works.
Just dont say like "I have 20 marijuana plants" or anything that would prove your guilt. anything about doing or planning to do illegal activities should never have I or i did or i am going to do.....
But unless someone says that they run a huge smuggling operation or something big we should not have to worry about them tracing anything. |

Good question, we watch and read this site often, by the same token wonder if it monitored. We do not comment on the issues of this site, we are not allowed because we are a non for profit organization that supports the 4th Amendment. We are the folks after the fact. We are passionate in our mission and hope to bring about a change. We hope ALL privacy is protected by the 4th Amendment. It's really too bad our 1st Amendment seems so Effie. We still support everyones opinion! But Again, silence is not the answer.

| Welcome to the Forum 3rdParty! Thank you for speaking out and showing support. Far too long we have been voiceless while our rights are stripped from us. |

Well, you brought tears to my eyes. If I may I'd like to share a short story. We gave a presentation to a business man. His very 1st question was, "what is the 4th Amendment"? His 2nd question was, you mean you would help someone who had cocaine in their glove box? All this was ok because we came back to our office and redid our whole presentation. But the startling part was he did not know the Amendment but attached it to an unreasonable search and found them guilty. We'll be better prepared the next time. Also, you all give us courage to write how proud we are that you stick together on this issue of your/our rights!! You are a truly remarkable team!!
Keep the information going!
your admirers of the 4th Amendment
