Ive lived a lot of places and apartments happen to be one. Ive lived upstairs and ive lived downstairs. Ive noticed a couple things too about pot toking apartment dwellers. This mainly applies to people under the age of 25 but not exclusively by no means.
First, apparently people who live a mere 4 feet above your head think the smoke rises into the heavens or something. The vast majority of pot smoking at apartments that I personally notice, are upstairs balconies. This elevated position may offer a better view, but does nothing to hide what your doing.
The smell and sounds of sparking lighters, and pot-lung attacks are unmistakable at ground level.
The reverse is also true for ground level dwellers. The smell and sound travel upstairs just as easily.
Second: this one regarding trash. Apartment dumpsters are located on typically private property, but that shouldnt deter Law Enforcement. If you must get rid of your stems and seeds by throwing them out, than try this: Break your waste up as small as possible and DO NOT put it in with your normal trash! Most communal living properties have groundskeeping crews who also use the same dumpsters for yard waste-lots of it usually. Wait until yard crews are finished and go dump your waste in with the yard waste. Make sure to mix it in if thoroughly if possible. This makes the task of identifying weed-waste with a particular individual much more difficult than if say you empty your roach laden ashtray full of seeds and stems into the kitchen trash where all your old mail resides. Remember, there may be twenty or more people using the same trash receptacle.
Preferable like Barry suggests, is to use a cheap coffee grinder and "K9 proof your yard. But, some apartments don't really have yards as such and you can only dump so much pot waste in a three foot strip of grass. Also, try to use more than one dumpster.[/b] |

Will they really go all CSI with your garbage to bust a personal smoker?
What about smoking indoors like in the apartment? What are the do's and don'ts of that..
I've always felt safe in my friends apartments smoking..
This is an excellent thread! |

Well, now,I had a friend that lived in some apts. and a drug task force officer moved in up stairs to him,I told him that I used to work in a restaurant, and that I used to go into the walk in freezer to burn, odor free ,proved by the boss walking in as I was blowing out a major hit........he didn't have a clue.
But as the story goes, after I told him that, he only smoked at his freezer, never did get busted. |

Here's one:
If you have a shower with a fan vent, the duct work typically goes into the attic or vents off the roof of the building. Turn on the shower on hot/warm and let it steam up a little with a damp towel under the door so no air escapes. (Make sure that the vent is off) Once the bathroom is semi dense with mist, quickly enter the room, utilities in hand. Close the door and put the damp towel back under the door. Smoke as you like with the shower on, but when your finished, cut off the shower and turn on the vent. Don't exit immediately, let 85% of the smoke clear. Once you leave the room leave the vent on for a couple of minutes.
My buddies and I did this in our on campus building for months with out the RA, who lived next door, ever knowing!
If you have a window that opens out on to a side of your building that doesn't get much traffic or has other windows, you can smoke in that room and blow the smoke out the window. To be less suspicious, open the window just a few inches and blow the smoke firmly, not like you're showing off how much you can hold.
Garbage bags work very well. Take a water bottle and cut off the bottom. (This is what you'll blow into) Take a large garbage bag, black preferably, and tie/tape the bag tightly to the bottle, with the drinking end out. Smoke as you like, then blow into the bag. The bag collects and holds the smoke. We would take the bag out to the dumpster and open it and squeeze the air out onto/near the dumpster. Viola, the smoke is transported from your place to the dumpster inconspicuously.
We would alternate these methods so that our RA wouldn't figure out a pattern of behaviour and get suspicious.
As far as disposing of evidence, just flush it...
I explained this pretty well, but PM me if you have any questions.
That freezer idea sounds bloody brilliant! He had no idea? |

That would be admittedly tricky.
First off, if the biggest issue is the smell of burning pot smoke, I have an immediate solution.
Buy a Vaporizer. Vaporizers don't actually ignite the plant material, but heat up the active T.H.C. for a nice carcinogen-free hit that won't produce smoke or that "skunky odor" associated with blunts, pipes, and water pipes.
No one will ever know. I recommend the Silver Surfer 3 Vaporizer.
.........................
If the smell is due to plants, you MAY have too many plants for such a small and "non-private" environment. Try activated carbon filters, and deodorizing machines from Grow Shops. Grab a 5 gallon bucket and fill it with "Pine-Sol," and hide it somewhere between your door and the grow area. The smell will overwhelm the smell of marijuana.
Another idea is to have some friends move in a few doors down, and make themselves appear to be a moderate "party crew." Make sure that house is clean, and that the inhabitants never have more than an ounce of MJ. Encourage them to occasionally have parties, and smoke marijuana inside. The entire complex will now know that it's "those loud drunks" who keep smelling up the complex. You then can grow in relative peace if you stay under the radar. |

| Smoking weed in my room as a kid, hiding it from my parents, i used an empty toilet paper tube stuffed with fabric softener sheets. Blow the smoke through one end and it comes out the other smelling "mountain breeze fresh". |
