I found this email interesting and thought I would post it for comment...not to berate this person but to figure out what really happened to him/her? I think the pot smoking experience detailed in the email was because s/he smoked pot laced with PCP or something. Here it is:
| Quote: | Hi Barry,
Nice website on "nevergetbusted"... I agree the war on drugs is insane and unjust.
But seriously you have some errors. Marjuana IS physically dangerous.
Firstly, smoking anything will damage your lungs. Even if it's NOT as dangerous as
smoking nomral cigarettes, it's still harmful.
Secondly, it's proven that long-term use of marjuana will damage the brain. People become
stupid, forgetful. You say "it's impossible to overdose"... but you mislead by making it
seem like overdosing and physically dying is the only danger.
Thirdly, worst of all, I actually disagree with your claim "it's not possible to
overdose"! No, the physical body may not die, but there may be severe mental damage.
Marjuana when taken in strong doses is a hallucinagen, much like LSD. This can cause
people to do stupid and dangerous things. Jump out in front of cars out of fear, drag
others into danger.
I myself suffered this kind of "overdose". I am not doing marjuana ever again. I don't
like the drug. I actually find alcohol safer. At least with drink, I can't damage my
brain. And as for my body, I don't drink so much I'll damage my body.
MJ on the other hand, does damage the mind.
To be honest, I'd rather damage by body than my mind.
And I'm not an anti-psychedlic moron either. I actually use psychedelic drugs from time
to time. Mostly safer dissociatives, that don't seem to harm my mind or my body. At least
with these drugs, I've seen clear warnings "DO NOT OVERDOSE". This way, I am protected by
knowledge.
Your misinformation only endangers people like me, exposing them to the risk of severre
mental trauma that can put them in recovery for months just freaking out at everyday
objects and events. Or worse, exposing them to danger of death through jumping out in
front of cars.
As I once did, I had the funny idea which made sense at the time, that "the thing" trying
to follow me, might not follow me if I went into a place too dangerous for it to follow
me. Of course "the thing" was imaginary, the idea was illogical, but the fear and
overwhelming sense of it, was real and my inabilty to realise how illogical it was, was
caused by the MJ!
So thanks for helping more people get put into recovery or coffins, with misinformation.
I just have the feeling you are caving into the pro-marjuana crowd who care more about
living in denial and delusion than actually caring about those they endanger with their
pro-MJ ignorance.
If you want to put this right, just get your facts correct. MJ is NOT safe. It is safe
for some people who use it responsibly. But like all things (even water) it has dangers.
DO NOT overdose on MJ, and do not use it to the point of long-term mental damage. |

first i would like to say thanks for the insight of what you get to see on a time to time basis but im questionable and controversal over some of his statements.
in some states you dont even have to smoke to damage your lungs due to the amount of air polution so the air we breath now is harmful (sounds like were beat from the start)
finding yourself to jump infront of a car is not the MJ you got something wrong prior (in my opinion) and if you compared long term smoking to long term drinking your still not gonna win my father has been drinking for about 20 years, doctors say he will be dead in the next 5 due to liver failure so dont compare the 2 w/o going indepth
"Psychedelic drugs are part of a wider class sometimes known as the hallucinogens, which also includes related substances such as dissociatives and deliriants. Unlike other psychoactive drugs such as stimulants and opioids, the psychedelics do not merely induce familiar states of mind, but rather amplify experiences so that they are qualitatively different from those of ordinary consciousness. These experiences are often compared to non-ordinary forms of consciousness such as trance, meditation, conversion experiences and dreams." (wikipedia) theres your psycedlic drugs for you same thing your protesting about.Im sure if MJ was legal there could be some kind of warning to protect the users.
I found that if you past the point of being too stoned take a shower it will lower the high, but i agree with barry your shyt was probably laced.
i find that the truth is everything can be dangerous if abused, but its all based on responsibility and judgment.
just my 2 cents.... |

Sounds too much like "posting from a script". What Rush Limbaugh calls seminar callers. Same old information clothed in "personal experience".
An experienced toker would have known the material was laced, and to claim that alcohol does not damage the mind is simple ignorance of the subject matter.
Unfortunately, these are the people who get the most attention. The majority of Americans like to be righteous by proxy. |

Well, first smoking cannabis is actually good for you! Smoking tobacco bad!
Cannabis has 33% less tar (the government test of the tar ratio was conducted using marijuan "leaves" not buds...so who smokes the leaves?) Cannabis also is a bronchidal dialter in that is dialtes the small passages in the airways, allowing the lungs to clean itself from all toxins much easier. (marijuana resin was used in pharmacutical meds for asthma years before its prohibition)
Tobacco has lots of tar, and he is a bronchidal constrictor, in that it hardens and closes the lung's airways, allowing the cancerous tar to sit and fister in your lungs.
Other than make you stupid, cannabis has been found to be "neuro protective" which it is prescribed for neuro degenerative diseaes such as MS.
And this idiot doesn't think alcohol kills brain cells? ahahaha tell him to research that one! At least I dont beat my wife, rape kids, have unprotected sex and start fights when im high. Oh and I can actually STAND when im high! |

What a foolish email. Marijuana doesn't kill brain cells, alcohol does.
Must have been laced. Poor fellow. |

| Perhaps this person ate marijuana food, which delivers a MUCH different high than smoking that can often put the uninformed person into a panic and mania state, especially when the high hits them full-force unexpectedly. |
