Hi everyone! My family and I are moving from Calif to the midwest in a few weeks. We are using a professional moving Co. I would love to stash a bit but am concerned with checks...do they check professional movers? I really would love to take a little homegrown with me!

I can't give you a definitive answer, but I believe it depends on the number of axles and gross weight of the vehicle involved. Most commercial movers that travel that far will use a tractor-trailer rig. I can tell you for sure that a 17ft Uhaul with a tow dolly and vehicle isnt subject to the weigh stations or "big-rig" pull over points. I know this because I encountered one on I-17 S. I was totally clean in the rig above. I pulled over because the sign stated pull-over requirements that I was unsure of.(Sneaky they are) So, I pulled over to be on the safe side. I pulled in and went up to a LEO (one of many I saw around) to ask if I was supposed to be there or not. He laughed and told me "Only if I was smuggling something". That was when I noticed that many of thge rigs had the back open. A whole Rest Stop full of rigs being searched. I looked back at him and said "Just being on the safe side, the sign wasnt very clear and I'm not sure of the weight." "Do I pull back onto the highway over there?" He gives me a quick approval and turns his attention back to the line of trucks streaming in. I got in and left.
That story would really be exciting if it was a Uhaul full of BC Bud, money, guns, and strippers.
