So some friends and I were in my room hanging out and toking up (we've been doing it for a year and have never been caught), when our RA happened to knock on my door and smelled it. She called the campus police, they came over and took everything we had on us (we gave it to her when she asked), it was my friend's bowl, her weed, my weed and that's it. The officer left, came back and said that she had just received more information that there were more drugs in the room, and asked to do a search. She said that if I consented to her doing a search, it would go through the college disciplinary system, if not, then it would go through local cops. She found my bowl, a vaporizer, various former stash containers, and 5 small cannabis plants in a box. They took pictures of everything and took it all away and didn't say anything else to me about what would happen. When she was talking to me and my friends before she searched my room, she made it clear that if we helped her, she would help us, aka she wanted us to rat other people out. I think my other 2 friends are off the hook, but I have no idea what's going to happen, especially because of the plants. If it's handled through the college, do you think I'll be kicked out? I've never been in trouble with campus police before, I have good grades and good connections with the college (both of my parents are faculty there, and no, they can't and wouldn't help me in any way with any of this), and I'm a freshman. Do you think they'll give me a second chance, or is this a possible suspension/expulsion situation?
Keep in mind that I was completely cooperative with the search, very polite and friendly with the officer (she was very friendly and understanding with me and my friends, too--for a cop anyway).
Thoughts? |

| Narcing is never a good option. I got "narced" on in high school and the dude who narced suffered greatly for it. You can be so careful in life but one person could ruin it all. Narcing just brings more people in the mix, it doesn't really get you off the hook. My votes on expulsion. |

Hey guys...let me just stress that expelling hardly ever happens at my school and it's very, very rare that they punish students harshly, especially when the student doesn't have a history of getting in trouble (i don't) and especially if they have good grades (which i do)...oh and btw the president of our college is not against pot...in fact he told me himself that he's much more worried about the large amounts of alcohol being consumed on campus, he said something along the lines of "oh i know students smoke marijuana, i'm really not worried about that as much as i am about the binge drinking..." and kind of waved it off. BTW here's a picture of our president...he's the shit, everyone loves him
