Did you read the customer review? There was only one, but he had this to say:
| Quote: | By waldo from Cupertino, CA on 9/19/2007
Cons:Loose lid
Describe Yourself:Casual/Recreational
Bottom Line:No, I would not recommend this to a friend
These expensive zip-lock bags are useless because the zip-lock tops won't stay zipped when jammed into a pack or stuff sack.

| I assumed he was just one of those people who can't properly close ziplock bags--my mom is one of them, I'll just have to pick some up and see for myself. |

Good point. Some people just can't seem to get those two sides lined up right.
If you decide to try them, let us know how it works out. |

Yes please do put these bags to a test.
I have doubts on the effectiveness myself. It seems to me that zipper is going to leak no matter how well it's sealed.
Take the bag and put something a dog would like into it, say beef. Let it sit for a few hours then present the bag to a dog, they will let you know if it works or not. |

| It just so happens I'm dog-sitting a breed of lab. I was walking her the other day and she started sniffing and pawing at the trunk of somebody's car. I couldn't help but laugh. I'll try hiding some of her kibble in the bag and see if she goes for it. |

| Cool, it's not very scientific but I think it would at least give an idea of the effectiveness. |

Odor will definitely permeate through the zip lock and I am most sure the entire bag. Run your dog test and then run the following test:
Place tuna fish in the bag and zip-lock. Leave and check every day. You should be able to smell the odor of the fish within time. Even if it takes a month for a human to detect the fish, this would prove the bag is permeable meaning the K-9 can detect the fish much sooner.
There is a long discussion on this topic in the Questions To Barry titled "Turkey Bag."
