| i had a friend whos brother moved large amounts across the border everyday and he said 1 out of 10 18-wheelers makes it across w/o getting busted could that be true? if it is true then why do cops say they know about these issues and they catch em if they dont?(just lies to decieve people?) |

| I aint Barry, but Im sure the ratio is more like 1 out of 20 that get caught. If only one out of 10 made it they wouldnt be using 18 wheelers to transport. Someone would lose WAY too much money. |

There is no way to place a ratio on something clandestine such as smuggling. I enjoyed both of the guesses and please allow me to guess. In regards to 18 wheelers, I think there are thousands of loads that get through for everyone that is busted.

All the drug cops I've heard say the opposite. They usually admit they are catching only of fraction of what gets consumed.

All depends who, when, and where.....
Sometimes they are running 100%, other times, it drops to 50%...combine that with 1,000 different sources....
Tractor trailers crossing the border aren't happening as much these days, unless with Customs assistance (most corrupt U.S Agency there is....)
Tunnels change it (when one is completed, and one is discovered....methods change, and, some large enough to drive trucks through....)
A lot of the time, same as Canada.....ie: Smaller loads assembled and shipped out.....ie: anywhere from 50-1,000lb loads, accumulated in the stash houses and then loaded for domestic on tractor trailers...
No one, also, sticks to same method (ie: trucks crossing border)....they might have 500 people simultaneously crossing, from on foot (100lb loads each person), 200 people a day, etc..........then medium loads in vehicles, then the tunnels, etc, etc...(They also use the portable bridges...)
People don't realize the extent.......any border, or near border city down south, your looking at hundreds of stash houses holding up to a couple tons each...(when your down there, and in it....a "ton" is nothing......at all......some guys doing multiple tons weekly...(ie: they sell tons like some people sell z's....standard unit of measurement...) |

Well many of the custom agents are paid off. In all honesty they dont make very much money so they intentionally let certain trucks at certain times through. Whenever they do catch a big load it is usually a tip, and rarely do they get lucky with there random searches when they do them.
Living on the border I hear about all the big busts and there is about 1 a month. That is like 29 days of illegal drugs coming through, well atleast in my town.
Like a year ago they got an 18 wheeler with 2 tons of pot in it. All other busts have been cars with bricks all over the car in the seat the lining of the roof and doors and in hub caps tires, everywhere they can fit some. |
