through the years,I have caught more breaks, than tickets. I was raised to be respectful of authority, and showing that respect,I feel,is what got me those breaks. I had no names to drop,so that isn't the reason.just plain, and simple Respect.as I have been a Pot Head for ALL my adult life, nearly every time I was stopped,I was hot........one time,I had a Heart stopping instance.
I worked a job painting water Tanks all over the southeast,we got to a tank, somewhere in north Alabama, and started setting up. shortly after we got there,a city LEO came to see what we were up to,after BSing for 5 or 10 minutes,he yell out something in German and his K-9 opened the door, and got out,and made a nose down scan of the area, came and sat next to him.there was no less than 3/4 of an ounce in my brothers car,as we rode there with him,the dog did not alert.......Thankfully........after a little more BSing he yelled something else in German, and the dog got back in the car and closed the door,as my heart slowly descended back into my chest. |

I got lucky as shit about 3 weeks ago. I had to much to drink at the bowling alley and decided to drive home (which was about 5 minutes away). I stop at a light and when it turned green I must have hit the gas hard cause next thing I know I'm bouncing off a wall and slamming into another one.
I must of took the traction control button off and spun my tires and lost control on the bridge I was turning onto and hit both walls and totaled my 05 GTO. A few other people that were leaving the bowling alley stopped to make sure my friend and I were ok. I was sitting on the curb with my head down convinced I was gonna get locked up and there was no way out of it so when the officer came up to me after running my info he asked if I had been drinking, I simply said "yes". He then said "Tell me no" so I did and he told me to get out of here. So I got one of the people that stopped to give me a ride to my friend’s house since he knew them.
After getting to his house it dawned on me that I had some coke folded up in a dollar in the little compartment under my radio and a bunch of fireworks in my center console. It turned out the officer knew my friends dad since he was a firefighter and thats why he let me go and when I went to go see my car little compartment was open but the dollar was still sitting in it and all the fireworks where also there. I'm well aware how lucky I got that not only did I not get arrested but that I didn't fuckin kill someone. I think I finally learned my lesson about drinking and driving. |

A couple years ago I got caught with a quarter outside the Cobo Arena in Detroit by event staff. The cops were called and questioned me for a half hour. Instead of arresting me, the cops had me dump my bag down the hole of a manhole cover. That's right, I had to take my weed out of the bag and forcibly get the buds down this tiny little hole. I was told if I tried to enter the arena I would be arrested. So I drove the 2 and half hours home without seeing the show or smoking my weed. I think that's the advantage of a big city, though; they're very aware that minor offenders aren't worth the paperwork or hassle. |

I gotta disagree on the city/country cop thing. I had a job taking me all over the US, and in contact with LEO's all over. Fed, State, County, & City.
There were jerks everywhere, mostly what I encountered was enforcement policy. Some areas were harsh to ridiculous for the types of violations I've been written up for. I've been given rude shakedowns in posh neighborhoods, ghettos, and in the sticks. All of the regional excesses were due to political pressure on the officers themselves. The rest can be attributed to that percentage of people in every walk of life who have a crappy attitude.
P.S. Look up narcdet, he's a regular who will tell you about political pressure on LEO's. |

Barry...
I know this is a dated message, but I'd like to respond anyway, hoping that we can re-visit this important topic (for medicinal indoor growers, that is). I've been doing some research on thermographic imaging devices used by law enforcement. It seems as though the readings gathered from such devices can be misleading and, often times, ambiguous...meaning that what might appear to be a high wattage light source really isn't. If this is the case, then such evidence to justify probable cause would essentially be thrown out due to inconsistent facts presented by a thermographic imager. Any thoughts? Any feedback on LED technology? |

I know it sounds stupid but if the officer actually did that..and I'm not calling your friend a liar but I myself have been accused of stealing as much as $5,000 after arresting someone when they did not have any money at all, so I know that false accusations occur...anyway, if the officer actually did it your friend should complain, and she should be vocal about. She should demand to take a polygraph and also demand that the officer take one as well. Could she get in trouble for claiming to have had meth in her purse...maybe, but probably not. However, you never know, this officer may have had other complaints filed about him taking peoples money etc. and the department may be looking for a reason to investigate him further. Since meth was involved they will probably make him take a piss test and if he comes up hot then he's fired.
There are alot of options here..but instead of anyone using them they prefer to just sit and bitch about cops. I'm a cop and I can tell you that I don't want to work with cops that steal etc. because it makes all the cops that aren't crooks look bad. |
Thanks for not being a dick |
