This site has all kinds of nice maps showing how inmate populations are distorting census. It also shows racial migration because of prisons and many other influences. Check it out:

I would like to see a comparison map of universities across the country and see how they compare. It's a scary thought too, living in TX, that I am just a stones throw from a prison. It's kinda like wal-mart when you think about it.
