all went well, no damage from GUSTAV. we still don't have electricity but i have a generator and its running most of my home not A/C but everything else. i will try to buy a small 5000btu a/c window unit tomorrow. the electric company 'SLEMCO' said it will be out 3 to 5 days. frown later my friends.
also stayed home never evacuated had no place to go.

I've got a buddy who goes to LSU. He drove back to Tallahassee to get away. They told him up to 11 days before electricity is back. That's a long time when there's no AC!

here we go again, we are preparing for hurricane IKE. it looks like it will come into the gulf. we will do what we have to do to be safe before and then comfortable after the storm. generator, gasoline, and one small a/c unit this time. rock & roll and a pain in the butt.

people, the sheriff dept. just came by and told us we had to evacuate. i don't curse but now would be a good time. its just getting crazy now for every hurricane sense Katrina and Rita we have to evacuate. i know the better safe than sorry part. i know i don't have to evacuate if i don't want to, he told me don't call, I'm own my own if i stay. we cant come get you. WOW everyone needs a Valium they should mandatory pass them out for hurricanes. ever heard of hurricane fatigue.

well mandatory evacuation south of hwy14 and patrolled by national guard MP's they posted curfews in towns, anyone out past 8pm will be stopped and detained until 6am the next day. it was like that for the last hurricane too. we had two pharmacy's that were broke into and minor looting. 6 guys were arrested. we are leaving in the morning and going 20 miles north. Texas will get hit sorry for you guys but good luck.
