An acquaintance of mine(not very bright, has been busted before and got off lucky) is apparently beginning to grow hydroponically in his little one bedroom apartment. What's even more stupid is he is telling all his friends and even people he meets at parties about it.
Having been busted myself, part of me wants to sit down and warn him, part of me wants to buy him Barry's DVD(but there's no spaceships, aliens or explosions so I doubt he'd be able to watch but 5 minutes into it before getting bored).. The worst part of me says just let him fuck the rest of his life up..
So.. In the vein of those great choose your own adventure books from elementary school..
Will he:
A.) Succeed, make it to the next step: selling the product
B.) Get bum-rushed and shot(by cops or thugs)
C.) Get raided, do time |

It's a tie, B or C either one. He better hope it's the cops that show up, but either way somebody is going to show up sooner or later.
I'm willing to bet most people think he's full of shit, but there is going to be that one person who believes him. Could be a thug, could be a concerned citizen, could be none of the above.
But just running off at the mouth is a surefire way to get busted.
One more thing, don't spend time at his house, don't even go to his house. If your spotted around and in his house you can't just say I didn't know he had them, they aren't going to believe that. Not to mention all the heat it will bring down on you being spotted around him and his house. |

| C. Your best bet would be to just stop talking to this guy. Unless you actually sit him down to the watch the DVD and he pays attention. Even at that, still be careful. |

I would actually go with A or B
He won't get raided for a small grow Op usually.
He might get enough weed in one grow to get a couple ounces. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Or someone will beat him up and take his shit. |

I say C. watch Barry's DVD, the normal chapter pres. was busted with 16 plants and 3 or 4 cuttings. small op. big op. if LEO finds out he is coming visit you.

You forgot option "D", being that he's not a grower, will not be successful, and will be shut down after a couple runs.....
This is actually the case for about 50% or more of all people (in any aspect of life....) ie: Either they "get it", or they don't.....Either they "take to it", or it just "doesn't suit them....
From the course he is taking, I would say it seems so far, answer is clearly "D"...
Why?....
Because the time he is spending talking about it, is the time he should be spending learning about it...
Majority of all people will follow the above...have seen it literally hundreds of times myself over the years, and, in keeping with the above, as it goes: "You don't have to tell those who know and you can never tell those who don't"...
I also wouldn't say "the worst part of you".....
I would say "The reasonable and logical part of you" thinks why bother..
Lot of people will spend on equipment.......will buy every book they can get their hands on......will spend hours upon hours on forums, but not devote a moment to learning security issues..(even true for many accomplished people....)
Most sites, "Security and Legal" forum is the recommended first stop for new growers....
You can have the best set up money can buy....spare no expense......have skills......in the end?, if security lacking, means nothing....
I'll stick with "D". He's already displayed he's not cut out for it.
I'll also say chance he might not get through first round (deficiencies, heat issues, ventilation, missing a feeding, rez dry, etc, etc....) |
