| I was wondering I drove 8,200 miles across the country from Oregon to Maine then down to Florida. I now have 15,000 miles on my motorcycle which is a cruiser style and never have been pulled over once. I was wondering where motorcycles stand in the Profiling mix? |

Welcome to the forum!
That's a very good question. I too will await an answer. |

Motorcycles are very seldom interdicted. I never pulled them over and really don't know why. Maybe because I knew they were not carrying pounds and small amounts would be difficult to recover because of all the hiding places on the bike and on the biker. Their clothing usually has a jillion pockets, nooks and crannies.
Very good question. |

This post has actually gotten me thinking...could a police officer pull over a cyclist riding a bicycle (I frequent road-cycling). After all it is considered a vehicle if you are riding on the road, and a cyclist has the same rights and responsibilities as a motor-vehicle driver.
So can a cop pull me over and request to search my bicycle (considering the mj was hidden out of view-maybe in the top-tube or something)
i think if your riding a bycycle EVERYWHERE you go,,,the law of nature automatically gives you the right to smoke marijuana.
netherlands proves that |

Yes. Your bicycle can be searched but it is very unlikely unless the cops have a tip you are a dealer.

I was going to post a thread about this but I'm glad I already found a topic about it.
I have a car and a motorcycle (the car was cheap, ok). I've been pulled over around 20 times since I started driving back in 2000, and all of those times were while I was in a car. I got a motorcycle in 2005 and I've only been pulled over on it one time, and that's because I was driving 74 in a 55. The officer didn't even ask me about narcotics.
So, let me be a +1 to anyone who is thinking of driving with weed and considering a motorcycle. |
