If you had a chance to speak with someone who could actually make a difference (be it a LEO, Judge, Politician or even a family member) and could only address 2 or 3 issues you have with the War on Drugs, what 2 or 3 issues would you discuss?
I have found in my many (50+) years of problem solving and trying this technique with my kiddos, is to break the problem down into areas so that it does not seem so overwhelming that you cannot see a solution. Like the old saying "you can't see for the forest for the trees". We are looking to everyone and anyone for answers and so many times the answers are within US to be solved. Again, an example would be that we ask LEO, judges, politicians, media, awareness groups, etc. to hear our plight and then try to cram the whole ball of wax into one small chance to speak
I also feel that we hurt ourselves by using our own language to try to communicate with people who already have a preconceived notion about cannabis consumption. I have never found one message board that is not inundated with people calling themselves dopeheads and potheads and various other names that demeans and diminishes respect for us and our cause. ONCE WE WIN THIS WAR, we can call ourselves whatever we want, but until then, I think we are doing our cause a great disservice. It is really okay not to comment on every topic if you don't have anything better to say than "FUCK" We want people to listen to us and that is all we have to say ?!?!
I mean absolutely no disrepect to anyone who is on this board. I enjoy smoking cannabis and I really hope that I see an end to all this nonsense in my lifetime. I would love to end my life stoned, and I would love to be able to do it legally and naturally. I also believe that every soldier called to duty in Iraq is giving their cause their best effort. They want their war to be over just as badly as we do so they can go home to their family and our POW's can go home to theirs. Are we putting forth the same effort as our brave soldiers ??
I realize I talk too much but I have so much I want to say.

I cant really narrow it down but I'll try.
The main reasons I think I would tell a LEO, judge or politician would be:
1.Medical use(aids, asthma, diabetes, alzheimer's, crohn's,)
2.Saftey in large doses(no overdose, no LD50)
3.Alternative materials(hemp car [25m/gallon] ropes, clothes, food) |

First I would have to discuss the Rick Simpson video's to the FDA.
Second I would take a turn bringing up the unjust arrest and deaths to marijuana users to the DEA. why do we die and they just bust coca dealers and hire them as snitches.
Third I would tell my girlfriend to stop being one of few Latinas that dont smoke |

Sorry, thats just too funny! You don't get much more stereotypical than Latino's Smoking!
Littlenut:
Keep talking, you make valid points here. We are fighting from a position much the same as any minority has. Language is partly to blame as you assert. We as "Cannabis Consumers"(I can think of no more broad a term),are beginning to create our culture in a similar fashion to African-Americans taking control of language of oppression. Perhaps we as consumers need such a consensus of who we are and what we say as a culture.
To address the topic specifically:
What can you say that hasn't already been said? In part or whole? Again, language and the connotations connected with it. A past age has defined us, our language, and therefore the effectiveness of it as a weapon for change in a modern context. The Neocons see us simply as NeoHippys.
Hmmn. Language and its evolution as a tool for guiding social trends. Off to research... |

I habe 2 daughters with her and let me tell you. They are not stereo types. What we belive are stereo types are the ways that they have molded themselves and they still live happy. the rest of her familia however look like the million marijuana march. kinda ironic |
