cool site on cantheism. and of course i like anything that starts with a legal disclaimer! And I think cannabinges are great when I end up seeing god go up in smoke.
Sacredness is something that is best shared with the like-minded, but kept away from the harsh-hearted (ie the prohibitionist unbeliever). Yet being secretive (as I was in my teen-age years as a member of the Chapel of the Pipe-my buddy was the other member of that cult) is not good when it comes to pot being a social issue, and especially bad when fear of expressing my spiritual beliefs makes it less likely I will participate in dialogue about the law.
Peace, and please pass the pipe. |

Yeah herb can be sacred in the pagan sense of something that has a spiritual dimension that can be violated, abused, etc. When I think about defending my use of pot by claiming a religious defense I feel like I am engaging in the profane. I liken the situation to one where I could justify growing or selling dope because it helps 'the cause' but in fact I would be commercializing that which ought to transcend money. Am I being too sentimental here?
I do, however, feel quite righteous when I attempt to use reason and logic to defend my right to smoke pot. |

dude, don't worry. Marijuana has been illegal for less than 1% of the time its been on the planet. And every major religion has used some form or another of cannabis products where they be to smoke, hemp oil, or the hemp fibers for clothes/rope/ship sails.
google THC ministry and temple 420. They both do religion the exact same way as everyone else with marijuana open. |

Thanks for the link.
As for cantheism there is plenty of that spirit in this group as far as I can see. Sacramental herb, used in ritualistic ways (to watch movies for example) produces alternate states of consciousness, perhaps no better or worse than normal consciousness (whatever that might be).
"We don't need no thought control" when we do it to ourselves you know. Keep the mind space full or else 'they' will do it for me...oops, sorry, just the paranoia talking here. |
