(true story)
Meet Jack,,he lives in an apartment complex,,actually a set of duplexes closely together. Many teens live there also,,cops are called nightly,,so on this night a month ago the cops decided EVERYONE is going to jail.
Jack was partying earlier but went in and went to bed around midnight. Jack kept his pants on he had been drinking quite a bit too. About 130 the cops came pounding on his door. Jack thought it was his party neighbors and got up. Without asking or looking who it was he opened the door. The cops grabbed him ,,,slapped the cuffs on him. Jack was arrested! Jack forgot he had a joint IN THE BAG...Not rolled. In his pocket.
Jack was arrested for possesion of marijuana..Jack pleaded guilty.
Jack got 1000 dollar fine
Paid 500 in court costs
35 hours of community service
and some 250 dollars in fees that I cant remember right now. Maybe Attorney fees.
Jack also has to go to drug counselling.
This was the Most expensive Joint Jack has ever had in his life. Jack didnt even get high from this joint. 
I feel sorry for Jack. But I have shown Jack the light, Explained Barrys yelling through the door technique,,and he will never open the door the same way again. |

| While on first view this sounds like a bad arrest I have a feeling there may be more to the story. However, since Jack is a partyer and has party neighbors and the cops are called nightly it COULD be the case that all the non-party neighbors that like to sleep at night are pretty pissed off at their inconsiderate party neighbors and that is why the police are called. In turn, the police tire of having to go to the same place all the time for the same complaints...etc. etc. extrapolate the eventual consequences....Just my take on things |

Ive lived in a few apartment complexes.  Jack was stupid. I'm sure his face was familiar enough too. Guilt by association. Your line of thought is probably correct. Eventually somebody has to go to jail so the neighbors will quit calling the station. Ive seen it in more than one neighborhood ive lived in. Either fights or parties. Sometimes people are either stupid enough or determined enough to make the cops take them to jail on some trivial shit.
Jack is a perfect example of ignorance and a lesson to all. I don't swing my door open without making sure there's NOBODY on the other side first.  |

yep thats what they told him,,,that they were tired of being called out there all the time for the same thing and he was identified as one of them contributing to the partying so they took him too,,,he went to jail with about 12 others that night,,,everyone of them got some community service,,since they were not respecting their community they all have to do community service,,he just got a little stiffer punishment cause of the smoke.
and i am also pretty sure they had spoken to him on previous nights as well |
