Now yes, some cops are total jerks but you cant totally blame this on them. They have been illy educated about pot and think its bad, and they are just doing there job.

Some are really heros though, they are the ones that take care of dangerous criminals and murderers, and are the first to try to fix a dangerous situation.

There jobs are just as if not more important than any other person.

If tomorow they passed legisaltion totally legalizing pot would you respect the officers or still hold them like you do now.

I honestly respect the majority of cops, they are doing a job, that I personally would not want to do.they regularly have to deal with the worst, heartless people you could meet.arresting potheads is wrong.but I understand,it is their job.not an excuse, but to me a cop out. Cool

well if you could get them to understand the benefits of growing it here and not importing it,,the turf battle with guns along the border would not exist,,,because it would be useless to import.

but there is proof everyday that this is not working.

this message is not being spread wide enough with enough people i guess.

as far as attitudes from cops..well theres all sorts,,thats not gonna change. ive come accross them all at one time or another.

ive had the asshole overly aggressive ones where they act like drill seargants with cronic hearing problems to some that seemingly care less as long as u let them sleep under the tree. just gotta adjust.

now the overly aggressive ones,,i just lay down and curl up in a ball and start crying, they dont even ask to search after that.

i tip the pleasant ones...

just like with everyone else it varries person to person. i've never wasted time hating someone for what they are when it feels so much better to hate someone for who they are.

Cops are people too. I treat them as I would another equal. They may have authority over me, but they put their pants on every morning like me and go to work to feed their families. Like me. I harbor no animosity there. If I make them do their job by committing a crime, can I really blame them? Even if the law is wrong or obsolescent?
That seemingly so many ex-law enforcement are having philosophical and moral issue with their service is telling of the effect this "war" has had. This tells me that the people who serve and protect us are not brainwashed automatons of the State.
Simple fact is this though:
We all want the police there when we need help.
We don't want them there when we've done something wrong.
It's not personal, its self-preservation.

Socrates,

I can tell you, I have extensive experience in drug law enforcement and I have never had one officer or agent ever voice an opinion that they did not believe in arresting drug offenders.

We get to see the associated 'social costs' everyday. the destroyed families, murder victims, etc that the drug trade fosters. So make no mistake, most cops have no issue with arresting and prosecuting drug offenders.

I dont LIKE them...

I dont HATE them...

I just don't TRUST them.

I just respect them for the work they have to do, because they go out there and have to face the scum of the earth day in and day out, and try to protect the good people from said scum.

That said, I'm pretty sure that a lot of them think that the war on marijuana and gun control (which in itself in an entirely different ballgame there) is just a bunch of bullshit, and are frustrated because they are having to enforce them, and with what results? I believe that they say to themselves, "damn, they're like cockroaches, stomp one out and 3 more come up".

Hence why they would be all for legalization (or rather, decriminalization), free them up from the bullshit and let them concentrate on the real BG's.

Note that this is only MY point of view, and if I'm wrong on anything, then I would stand corrected.

Educated Asshole, He's been through all the classes and told about all the evil's of drugs.

Just Plain Asshole, He's always been a prick every one knows it even his family.

Regular Cop, He's a nice enough guy but he's not going to let you go on anything cause he follows the law.

Fairly Cool Cop, He's a easy going guy. He's not going to give you tickets for shit like a light out or some other small stuff, he'll also most of the time give you a warning for a lot of things.

Really Cool Cop, knows all the drug laws are bullshit. This guy could pull up and see a bag lying on your seat and he would say nothing. Not a whole lot of these around.

Agreed. I can understand a Cops POV. I have known people who still have fucked up lives over Meth and Crack. I wouldn't have anything to do with them either. Meth is what Schedule I is for, not pot. Most people Ive known who toke had problems after the Cops came, not before.
I don't blame the police for doing their jobs, even if I'm on the receiving end, and have been. I blame our politicians who have risen to power, affluence, and office, on disinformation and often outright lies. In particular regarding the dangers of Marijuana.

Marijuana never destroys family. Sometimes it can actually make a husband and wife closer. Or it improves the quality of life of the chronically sick Like the example of lester grinspoon.

When the police raid your as with flashbang grenades and machine guns, the ruins families. A totally normal family that owns 1/4 of weed, to take the edge of the day and relax. When their kids have straight and the two parents have normal jobs.

The saying for some people is "they're around when you don't need them and never around when you need them" coming up the way I did they never helped any one of us out I grew up with out a father like most kids around my way so I learned how to be a man on my own and since a young year I handled almost every situation or altercation solo and what I felt I couldn't handle myself the people I had in my circle
that were loyal to me stood by my side .. in my neighborhood the police are more corrupt then most of the criminals in my eyes the ones with badges are who.you need to watch

my feelings towards Law Enforcement is
Fuck Them and anybody that looks like them.. and I'm NOT thinking twice about what people think when I Post this reply because you shouldn't be in hurry to judge something you know nothing about

I don't need them protecting my streets ..they need stay the fuck from around me ..

They're like Poison to New Jersey

The way they work is by instilling fear in the hearts of citizens claiming to "Protect & Serve" the only individuals I seen them "Protect" is there other fellow officers.. the only thing I seen them "Serve"
is more of my people to the Judicial System

They get alot of people murdered ..in various ways

.1. By use of their own guns whether it's a stand off
a drug raid vengeance or retaliation or maybe they just light your ass up because they can and later write in the police report they "thought" you were reaching for a fire arm

.2. The "Good Cop" "Bad Cop" Routine something I like to call Trick-nology making false claims about a case during questioning using different techniques that will trap suspects by incriminating their selves or others into a testimony or signing a statement so when they indict the person their looking for word will get back that "so and so" "Ratted" which puts you and your family in danger for jeopardizing some elses freedom

.3. Shaking someone down on the street cuff them up throw them in the car and Drop them off in an area where they know that individual has drama or a history of rivalries

.4. Plant evidence for a case they can't prove and Aid in the conviction and prosecution which puts you in a situation where your housed in a establishment surrounded with murderers they can take your life over some dumb shit probably something more pointless than why you were placed there in the first place

.5. Manipulation & Black Mail this has way to avenues
to go fully into

Most of you see cops as "assholes" for writing you a ticket for not wearing your seat belt..
where I'm from it's a lot deeper than that
If you truly believe they become cops because they want to help people..I have a couple bridges I want to sell you...

Need I Say More??
