I was in another discussion under another topic with Brute and a question was raised.

I always wondered !! Do people just like walk around on the streets like pssssts hey you wanna buy some weed?

That dosn't seem to sit well with me, or do they just stand on a corner and random people come up to them and buy and in the latter case how do they know their not undies?

Up here the only way to get that I know of is call a friend who knows somebody.

But the more I read and hear about the States, it seems that you guys just stand on a corner somewhere or go out into the streets? What should I do? If I do.

Well around here most people sell from their home, yes stupid. Or another safer method that is employed is to call the dealer and they will meet you at an arranged location.

the best way I have seen is 1)get a good source....2)only sell to someone you trust,and let them move it for you....3)keep the circle as small as possible,as in circle of contacts.....Taking to the streets is VERY risky,as any street you may have good luck on, is probably already inhabited by,narc stings,gangs,or just plain old street thugs.

During my high school career i would sell some every now and then to get some money. Some of my friends also wanted to sell and knew people that would buy. I would buy a QP (quarter pound) of mexican schwag for 80-100. I would then break this up into ounces and sell those for 30 so i'd make like around 20 dollars profit, this left my friends to sell their ounces and make money.

Yes, the more you buy the cheaper it is. Think of it like shopping at Sam's or costco.

Trox, Here in the US well in my town and i think most other places ounces of some high grade weed is about 300 and ounce, and you sell them 20-30 a gram.
I think that if you were to buy an ounce you would probably get it for 150 if the usual price is 10 a G.
But if it is 280 then you could sell it for 20 a G i would think.

And the 300 a pound is low grade mexican schwag.

Most every one I have dealt with over the years have been people you wouldn't suspect of dealing. It's like a side job for most dealers. Most I have known had regular jobs, families, pets, debt, not baby-raping drunks and murderers. Some I have known sell just enough to supply themselves with free smoke. There have beena few unscrupulous dealers that were greedy. They lost my business.I don't and haven't been a dealer, but like every other stoner, I've hooked up a friend or family member in need.
A good steady smart dealer is hard to find. Snitches take a heavy toll on good people with honest business practices. (Even if it is clandestine)
It can be difficult to find someone who has access to good quality material. Most anyone can get a bag that came from mexi. Its all on who you know and who they know.
Right now, I recently acquired a 1/2oz of "White Widow" $210 US. Mexican or commercially available ("mersh" as its known here is about $80 an oz. These prices fluctuate based on quality and quantity available.
I only have to go to one person for all i need. For years in fact. A few business relationships have turned into good friendships as well. We take care of each other as true potheads are giving in nature. If you have to go to a friend who has to wait at his sisters friends house for her dealer to drop off an oz, so you can get a 1/4oz sack, then you are going to pay premium for swag.
You risk getting ripped off or busted if you buy from the street. This is not the way to sell pot successfully. Profit margin is as high as the risk.
You must have access to your consumer as well. Me personally, I don't have enough people close to me to successfully sell pot and profit. I would have to extend myself into unknown social waters which invites being busted. I think people are less likely to turn on a dealer who is their brother, uncle, cousin, or have some genuine rapport other than business.
Granted, betrayals happen.
There is a lot to consider my friend.
